That was a funny line, but on the topic; I personally don't think he'd have any issue with the Cartel when it comes to buying the car. Yeah you can't be stupid, you have to know how to move around them, but the cartel isn't usually an issue. Usually these areas are dangerous due to gangs (not usually related to cartels, which the cartels will go after). Chances are, he would get robbed by some gang and killed prior to ever getting to the cartel. While cartels CAN be dangerous and do go to war, you do have to understand that they own allot of the tourism businesses in Mexico, among many other regular businesses. Its not in their best interest to terrify people from going to Mexico. Plus, believe it or not, the Cartel does allot of its own policing among other things, they actually handle things as if they were leaders of a territory, not just a gang. They are respected businessmen and handle the situations as such. Allot of people view cartels as a problem, but allot also view cartels as their savior. If it wasn't from cartels, there may be no order or balance, or an economy at that. Cartels aren't savages. I'm sure if ed showed up and spoke with a respected higher-up at the cartel (Which I assume would be someone who would own the F1). I don't see him having an issue figuring out a transaction and leaving unharmed. Though, I doubt the cartel takes financing.

I watched this with interest as I'm in the UK and have read about the missing car many times. The strange thing is that the plate looks like an original dvla issue plate and they are generally non transferable, in fact it usually states this on the log book. The number stays with the car, even if a cherished plate is put ton the car as it is then put back to its original number when the cherished plate is removed. The other thing is...in order to run that plate on the road without getting pulled by police they'd need road tax and you can't get road tax without a log book with the chassis number and number plate on. The other thing is that the car had a mileage reading until around three years ago on its annual test..then suddeny no mileage reading. So it looks to have been turned into the race car at that point. I think it's the same car. You can apply for a log book for any car that has been registered in the UK at any point. The registered keeper then gets a letter asking if xyz has purchased the car, if they don't respond within a certain time the person applying is given the log book in their name! Basically If the car was removed from the UK but never officially exported anyone could bring it back and as far as the dvla know the car never left England and you could apply for a log book.
@sv_cheats19703 жыл бұрын
Interesting stuff, also wouldn't the Mclaren lose its license plate numbers since its said that it left UK in 2001 and was later registered in 2005 and onwards. Or does the car need to be scrapped to lose its plate numbers? Correct me if I'm wrong.
@jSUIIII3 жыл бұрын
@@sv_cheats1970 it would retain the same plate cause it was most definitely illegally exported out of the uk into Mexico so to the DVLA they would probably still assume it's in the UK and the second F1 that took its plates probably applied for a new logbook so according to the DVLA he's the second owner of that same original F1 when in reality he has a completely different F1 which makes me think he may have a stolen F1 and taking the plate of the el chapo F1 was probably the easiest way to get the stolen F1 in his ownership meaning it can't be seized and isn't technically stolen. A lot happening with the second F1. Something is definitely amiss.

@@kookieslayer afaik he had two of the same types, one of them has been found and traded hands a few times, the other I seem to remember hasn't. There is/was a video on YT about the history of it but it was a year or two ago that I saw it and I don't recall which channel it was on or the title of the vid. If I remember correctly the found one ended in a museum, but the second one went poof more or less. I think the same video also talked about Goerings sport ones too.

I love listening to Ed tell stories. He's the type of guy that has perfected the craft...leaves out those repetitive nonsensical words such as "uhhh" and "like"...without all those filler words, Ed gives you a fluent story that's easy to listen to without any hang-ups. Thank you Ed. I'd be honored to have you as my uncle..you'd breathe life into my family's gatherings. One could only dream. Good lord I sound like a fan boy..sorry, not my intention. In the UK, when a car goes through an MOT(yearly test), they check the VIN, so i think this yellow car(P440CPJ) really is the #39 What could have happened is that #39 was brought back to the UK in 2005 and the P440CPJ plate transferred(legally) back to it. Then it was painted to be a "replica" of the Harrods car #06R, which could be stored safely, being worth as much as 3 times the value of #06R

When you sell a car in the UK you can take the registration off of the vehicle and place it on retention. The car gets assigned a new registration. You can assign the plate you placed on retention to any other vehicle the same age or older. Only costs £80 to do this too.
