@@keiton9512 I’ve always hated when people say this. No, it won’t result in lawsuits. If he came on here and didn’t lie and just told the story as it was there is nothing wrong with that. The company can try and sue him but they literally have nothing to stand on and if they take legal action the shop might end up liable for “damages” caused to Casey because they lied to him and didn’t perform the work he took it for which he could argue resulted in a profit loss for his channel or shop. The real issue is once you out the shop they may act like a bunch of idiots and start defaming Casey or his shop online or to the community. I think his issue is that he cut corners and therefore ended up with the result. I'm sure the guy he was desiring to work with was probably ALLOT cheaper than some high-end shop with multiple certifications. He probably knew the guy was BSing the entire time, yet, he also was underpaying and working with less-professional people, which means you have to be lenient with them, especially when they have something of value in their hands. You have to weigh the cost of savings VS being sketched out. Best case they do their job and you save thousands, and worse case you regret it, the degree of regret depends on how sketchy you got.

I am a retired 40 plus year high end body and paint guy. (Pre WWII Antique and Classic cars, hot rods, race cars, custom paint.) This is all to common in the industry. Every time I see or heard of this kind of shenanigans, it tears me up inside. Most of the time it is a guy trying to get his pride and joy done and some weasel comes along and does a "song and dance" on them. AND not knowing the right questions to ask or what to look for in a body shop, the guy gets taken for a ride, looses a large amount of money and possibly his car. Unfortunately there are too many of these types of people in the business. I WISH there was some kind of certification nationwide that would eliminate the fly by night a**holes. Your Pal, Gary

As a career body guy, you can tell the good shops from the bad when employees get excited to work on particular cars. Those of us that desire to be a part of making an exotic or collector car look its best do so out of love, and the money is secondary.
