There's something so beautiful about exploring a country through its record stores. If I had the money I would love to travel the world, getting lost in little record stores for hours, looking at album covers, reading liner notes and listening to music from artists I've never heard before.

It's good to see that record shop owners in poorer countries are realizing how much their records are worth, and getting good money for them nowadays. This wasn't the case 10 or 15 years ago when they would be happy to accept much less.

Nice video but when you are in a poor country like Columbia, don't be a cheap goat pay the man for what he ask for. Its still a great price compare to the west. And its not like you cannot afford it.

Very true, I found that section a bit cringe-worthy and shitty to see. These are some classic vinyls and surely this guy wants to support independent vinyl stores or what?

Very good video Now one thing, the title would not be the closest. Africans were born in Africa and cumbia was not born in Africa. African descendants in Latin America are considered Afro-descendants or Afro-Latin Americans. So the closest title is "African-American Cumbia" or as we say "Latin American Cumbia and in this case we make another expression: Central American Cumbia. I know that many titles are invented, but these expressions would be the fairest.
@PalenqueRecords4 жыл бұрын
that is wrong, cumbia africana is the name of a Son Palenque tune , and when it comes to afrocolombia , san basilio de palenque is a very african village founded by maroons who speak their own afro hispanic language - also we can say that cumbia was born part in africa part in colombia

Dude, 50.000 pesos are less than 12 euros, that's less of what you pay for a dinner out in France. Don't be a buitre, pay a fair price for something you are gonna use to make much more money in your country. Because then you are gonna present yourself like an expert in Latin American culture, talk a lot of snobbish crap, but the truth is you don't even respect the people you are getting the music from.
