Hi Harris My name is Carl. I live in New Zealand. I love 1960s/70s Soul and Funk music. Firstly I like Sam Cooke, and I particularly like his gospel singing. The group War i was into back in the 70s, songs such as Low Rider, Cisco Kid, Galaxy are favorites of mine. The Isley Brothers are cool. They were popular in the 1970s with a string of hits. Stax label put out great soul music, I liked the Staple Singers who recorded on that label. I'm listening to Sly and the Family Stone in the background while I'm checking out your video. I'm in my sixties and I started going to the Discos back in the late 70s. I remember dancing to KC and the Sunshine bands hits, and the lovely Donna Summers tracks too. Thanks for posting your video.

Hey ho, lets go Harris. Now those were super solid suggestions for the money. I have seen some of these in the Goodwill's over the years. Definitely have seen various other albums from 75% of the artists that you showed. One suggestion from me would be this one. I love the band War. A great album of theirs's to find is All Day Music. The title track alone is worth grabbing. But the rest of the album is worth hearing too. >< That Stax Soul Explosion looks cool. I do not see many original Stax recordings around here that often. The one album that I always look for in the charity shops is 'Presenting The Fabulous Ronettes Featuring Veronica'. ♫ I was listening to the Chic album not to long ago. Fabulous choices Harris. Hey Rob! I need to check that track out! My favourite ever war track is ‘War Is Coming’ which is a Latin funk banger ! Really worth listening too. I do love a it of Chic. In the U.K. finding ‘The Faboulous Ronettes’ would be a long shot..that’s normally marked up at £70.00 plus I do have a comp that has all the tracks from the first album on it, huge influence on U.K. indie that one, The Jesus & Mary Chain knicked that drum beat for so many tunes..’Some Candy Talking’ is the best known. Hope your looking forward to Autumn in Boston Rob, always looks amazing!

Hi Harris. Your thumbnail attracted me; 'The Belle Album' is one of my favourites ... I picked up a near-mint still-in-shrink vinyl LP yesterday at a charity shop for just £1.50 - The Staples' 'Pass It On' from 1976, produced by Curtis Mayfield and arranged by Rich Tufo. Mayfield plays lead guitar and Tufo plays keyboards ... Sam Cooke is a candidate for greatest soul voice of all-time ... George McCrae 'Rock Your Baby' used to be a car boot sale regular. It must have sold by the truckload back in the day.

Listening to Belle as I type, really great. Even with the occasional naff synthetic synth sound. Wow what a great find With The Staple Singers, I actually don’t own an album by them. Hi M! Thanks. I thought I’d be able to give you a good Northern Soul recommendation Because over here there are literally thousands of compilations..then I saw how much they sell for in America! Great video - Like everything else, the tide will change and all of the classics that you have shown will increase in price. So much great music, Al Green being the finest of the bunch. His recordings lost some of their warmth after he split with Willie but they are still great. Except for Al, I've sold all of the albums that you have shown for between $5.00 and $7.00 in nm- condition. Soul compilations have always been undervalued. Lucky for those of use who love the music. I'm surprised that early 80's rap has not shot up in price. Cheers.
