Super jealous of the ROAD! I really dig Noel in Fat Mattress and I have both the FM albums but still on the hunt for Road. Way cool album. Cactus is a good one, I found my copy for $9. Awesome scoops
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
I’m not too big on FM, but do love me some Road! It’s such a cool and great one, was happy to finally get a copy of it. Cactus is great too! I’m a big promo lover so to find a promo of it was so cool to me. Thank you though! I appreciate it, cheers!

That is an exceptional deal on that legendary Guy Clark record. That Cactus is a killer album. A similar band is Vanilla Fudge as Cactus founding members were actually Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice from that band.
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Hey man! Apologies for the late response here! I couldn’t believe it when I got that Guy Clark record for that price. I thought something was wrong hahaha. Vanilla Fudge is a great band though! Love em. Cactus is always killer too. Cheers man and happy holidays!

Genesis is a killer Elvin Jones album! I’m intrigued by the Eddie Fisher album so I’ll be checking that one out! Fancy Free is a nice find!
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Hey Joe! Yeah Genesis is a really good one, everyone is just playing so good on that one. But I think you’d really dig that Eddie Fisher album a lot! It seems right up your alley, and thank you man! Appreciate it!

Oh no! I’m sorry about that, but it’s good to know because now I know to speak louder or sit closer in the next video so thank you for that! Cheers and thank you!

nice pickups. i knew almost all the artists just not the particular albums. phil woods i pickup almost anything i see him on. interesting you find records you sold. cant pass up a good price i guess. Cheers!
@trentsrecords2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jason! Happy to hear from you my man. If there’s anyone I’d think would know all of the artists it’d for sure be you hahaha. But I’m definitely gonna have to make it a rule to pick up anything with Phil Woods on it from now on. Only reason I got rid of the albums before is because I was purging and the ones I bought back are nicer copies than before and all were less than $15 so it was hard to pass up lol. Cheers man! Enjoy your trip coming up!

Hey Trent, trying to catch up on videos. I haven’t been watching as much lately as I’m too busy to do so. Been on Instagram more, though. You can never go wrong with having a little bit of J.J. Cale in ones life. ‘Let Me Do It To You’ off of that album is such a funky track. Cactus are fantastic. I love Tim Bogert’s bass playing. Strange Days mono is a killer find. I sold my early 90’s reissue a while back. I will pick up a copy again if I see one in the wild. Nice find on the Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation. I’m still on the lookout for that album. I have their ‘Doctor Dunbar’s Prescription’ album and it’s great. $15 for Road is a steal! Nice job! Has some killer tracks on it. That Albert King album with Rory playing a solo sounds up my alley. I’m going to check it out. Any copy of that Howlin’ Wolf record would be great to have. Such a killer and influential record. Love the design and the font they used. I’ll also have to check out The Space Book as you say it’s one of your favourites. Lots of great stuff in this update! Thanks for showing us your latest findings.

Hey man! Great to hear from you so thank you for the comment! I’ve definitely been getting lucky with a lot of the rock finds lately hahah. Doctor Dunbar’s Prescription is a great album! And that Albert track with Rory on it is amazing. Highly highly recommend checking that one out. Couldn’t believe the guy wanted $15 for the Road! I was so stoked on that one hahah. Cheers man, and thanks again!

Thank you for the kind words!! I’m also a huge Elvin Jones fan! Think he just keeps things interesting at all times. But The Space Book is one of my all times favorites! Huge Booker Ervin fan! I love musicians that have such unique tones. Cheers!

He really is! I couldn’t remember who played on it in the moment but yes, Liebman is fantastic! I think it’s still a pretty underrated album but a really great one. Cheers!

Fantastic finds Trent! That Aynsley Dunbar album is absolutely killer! I did not know it but what an amazing record! Thanks for showing it. And wow Jazz Messengers, Rights of Swing - killer albums! Really happy you found those! I just recently picked up that Rights of Swing as well actually (can't remember who else showed it recently) and *love* that album. A bit surprised it's not talked about much more. Only 65 people have it in their want lists on Discogs??? Great video as always! Sorry about that Rocking Chair man but it was definitely worth taking the risk IMO, given the prices these days. Enjoy these new pickups! Cheers.

Thank you my man! I really enjoy that Aynsley Dunbar record, good mix of styles on that one! But you’re right about both being really great albums! I need to find an OG Candid copy…might just have to hit eBay for that one lol. Agreed about being surprised it’s not talked about more, but that means it’ll stay relatively cheap for now which is nice! No worries about the Howlin Wolf though, ya win some ya lose some! At least the music still comes through and it still plays through. Cheers Ilya, thanks again my friend!

Yes Cactus! That one is hard to find clean I’m on my third copy at VG+, grab their second album One Way or Another you’ll love it, but you can avoid Son of Cactus not that great..

Hahaha man I think I’m on my 3rd copy too. I think this might be the cleanest one I’ve found and I’m happy about that because it’s the WLP! I will avoid Son of Cactus though…thank you for the advice, cheers!

I first heard Road on WFMU and tracked down what might be a semi-legit CD right away. Then I moved to Northern Michigan and found the LP in Goodwill one day. I sold it on Ebay to a buyer in Brazil who then claimed he never received it. Aynsley Dunbar, I have a CD of one called "Remains to be Heard" that has their single "Warning" as a bonus cut. You probably know Black Sabbath covered that on their debut. Always enjoy your videos. -John from So I Married A Record Collector.

Hey John! First off I appreciate your support and kind words. My apologies if I have not reciprocated that but I do watch your videos! Just been quite busy as of late, but need to get more active in the VC again. Man, I miss northern Michigan haha. Need some Michigan cherries and pasties in my life so bad. But I love that Road album a lot. Happy to finally have a copy of it. Believe it or not though but I had never made the connection between Sabbath’s Warning and Aynsley Dunbar’s and now it’s all making sense hahaha, thanks for clueing me into that! Thanks again John! Cheers!
