How wonderful it is that we can still enjoy the sweet harmony of the Carter family who have long past over the River Jordan. Boy I love their singing!

Many "good" Americans cannot swallow this, this music that is a strong foundation of what is Country, Blues, Texan and so many other music styles here in the USA. Carter family were originators of "Americana" and what was the beginning of the compilation of EARLY recorded music. What wonder that we have stuff like this... Even Robert Johnson, BLIND WILLIE, HANK, etc... All those of us who have gained from THIS, imagine all of the rest(musicians) who were influenced ?, 👍 !

At 65 you are still a youngster but isn't grand that we can still enjoy the old music through KZbin. I love in back then and I still love it. I did not start playing the music myself until my wife past away in 2004 and I joyed my daughter's Deication Band playing the Marimbula. The views on my channel now are not the Dedication Band, but family members who gathered for my 83rd birthday.

John Brown He's a youngster? I am 18 and I am so glad my grandma (who is 73) introduced me to bluegrass and country music, for I would never know the good stuff!

one only has to listen to the Carter Family music [ on CD or Cassette] as they drive nice and slow along the backroads around Gate City and Hilton's VA on their way to the Carter Family Fold to make the tears begin flowing.

My Little Home In Tennessee 0:19 Every night I'm dreaming of a little home Down among the hills of Tennessee And I'm always lonely, longing to return To the place that means the world to me 0:39 Just a little shack, roof all turning black Still it is a palace fair to me Songbirds always singing 'round my kitchen door In my little home in Tennessee 1:16 I can see my mother standing by the gate As I drove the old horse up the lane She would never scold me when I'd get in late How I wish I'd never caused her pain 1:35 With her tender smile beaming all the while No one could be so kind to me Now she's gone to heaven and she'll never return To my little home in Tennessee 2:12 I can still remember many years ago When my sweetheart wandered by my side Down among the mountains where wildflowers grow There she promised she would be my bride 2:32 Then another man won her heart and hand Then I knew how much she meant to me I was brokenhearted and I went away From my little home in Tennessee

I'm also 65...I always wished I was born about 15 years or so earlier. The late '40s and the '50s were the Golden Age. Maybe just a little ways into the '60s.

Her Mother has NOT gone to Heaven!! She has died and is resting peacefully in her grave. I'm sure, however, that she will be resurrected and go to Heaven when Jesus comes again to take His loved ones home.
@douglasd536 жыл бұрын
Her body is in the grave, but her spirit is present with the Lord, according to Paul. The two will be joined again at the resurrection.
