My best friend got covid-19. She's healthy and a runner so she had good cardio health, she was hospitalized and her husband was told to get her affairs in order. Luckily she pulled through but has lasting complications such as memory loss from the fever and inability to run anymore. She's on a daily inhaler. Its been months since. Healthy people can almost die too.

Just because you're in good physical condition doesn't mean your genetics are good for dealing with this viral illness. It's mostly to do with genetics and immune response. That's why the 1918 flu killed mostly young people in good physical shape.

@@shaliniram4719 First shot only gives a person 50% "protection" (based on trials) - the media keeps reporting it as though getting a shot means the person is safe. It's supposed to be 95% after two shots and they don't even know how long it will last.

That sucks well hopefully the built up antibodies prior helped her more and she wasn’t sick as long , it was a rough 7 days for me but then I’m back to normal it just took longer ive had the flu and mono and I actually think it’s a lot like mono I didn’t have breathing issues but I did have horrible fatigue and headache like no other and vomiting . I'm feeling so emotional with this video. My grandma died of covid-19 last October and I hadn't seen her in 7 months... I still feel so much pain and I miss her so so much. It makes me insanely mad when I see people going out and aglomerating and sh*t, it's just so selfish and disrespectful... My grandma, who was not geting out of home and was mostly isolated from the world, died because someone who wasn't taking precautions and following quarantine correctly decided to visit her and then infected her. So, please, everyone, take care of yourselves, your families, follow isolation and quarantine correctly. We are still far safe from this nightmare to end, so take care

I don’t think people think the virus is fake. I think that the reaction to lockdowns are totally wrong. I know many places without restrictions, some with zero restrictions and are doing much much better then those with restrictions. Lockdowns are not the answer and should not be allowed.

Yes they do a about 30 cases a day but almost zero deaths. There is no lockdowns and just about everyone is doing fine. The lockdowns are a huge mistake and is a crime against humanity. Look at South Dakota, Florida. They are doing just as good or better then the places which have full lockdown.

@@vicgamesvt9682 I understand where you are coming from, but there are huge problems because of lockdowns. The main one is they cause more deaths then the actual virus. The best idea is for people over 60 to isolate, and those younger to go out normally. Within 2 months there would be herd immunity, instead our government just prolong the agony of lockdowns, are not supporting businesses which are closed, giving out huge fines for nothing, police brutality,etc. We should never take away rights from people , because once they take it away, they never give them back.

Same, i've had very close contact with people who had covid... multiple times, I even help took care of my mom when she had it. Thank God I remained healthy after every possible exposure and everyone I knew recovered pretty easily! But, i still think it's important to be cautious for yourself and others! Can't wait til this is all over

CovId ICU nurse here. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen the situation that you described in the video. It’s really sad to see because, as you said, the survival rates of these patients are very low. I just hope some people take this this to heart and better protect themselves and their families.

My mom unfortunately got Covid before her first vaccine dose. She was in really bad shape but was so lucky her oxygen saturation didn’t dip below 90%. Had a fever of 103.3. But she’s past the 14 day Covid timeline and she’s slowly recovering now. I’m SO relieved. I’m so happy you and your husband overcame Covid too!

Oh wow Siobhan, i’m so glad to hear that you and Mark are OK. And I can see how difficult the reality of caring for critically ill Covid patients is on you. Your empathy is always evident and would be exactly what the family would need. I worked at that hospital for many years before moving onto a new occupation. And when I watch your videos, I think of you and all my former coworkers. And I genuinely hope that everyone is OK. If there is one little suggestion I could make for you, it would be to use the Calm app for those times when you need to get some sleep but have too much adrenaline going. I have found it pretty useful. Know that we are thinking about you. ❤️

Glad to hear that you and your husband are feeling better now. Yes it is extremly hot under the ppe's. I wore them for 3 times 8hrs a day for 2 weeks each time. I work in a nursing home and had to wear them when one of our residents came down with covid. They also control the heat in there apartments so that meant it was extremly hot in the hallways. When the residents came back to the home we would down the ppe including a plastic gown which is extremly hot while you are trying to work. Some of the residents would have there heat on at 84 degress when it wasn't that cold outside so I know exactly how you feel when you have to put the ppe's on.

My cousin recently passed of covid in early January and I’m still not ok. We’re extremely cautious since the beginning. So especially right now I get so frustrated when others aren’t taking it seriously. Masks are not fun and annoying but I wear it because you never know! Thank you for all that you do on the frontline! My dad passed away on December 2, 2020 from Covid. He was only 65 with no underlying issues I am so grateful for all the nurses and doctors that did all they could for him. So glad that you and your husband recovered well from Covid.
