Thank you for this video! Another rare skin condition is DRESS syndrome, which is a systemic allergic reaction to medication. It is hard to diagnose, as it mimics other conditions. My daughter spent an agonizing week in the hospital after a reaction to a medication. It started with flu-like symptoms, stomach ache, fever, severe edmema, and then a rapidly spreading rash that covered her entire body. She looked like she'd been badly burned. We visited several doctors and ER's before an alert hospitalist figured it out. If not treated with IV steroids and stopping the offending drug, it can be fatal. It had also affected my daughter's liver, kidneys, lungs and gall bladder. As she recovered, her hair started to fall out and her skin shed like a bad sunburn. This was over ten years ago and she still has problems with skin rashes.

It was rashes that didn’t respond to any treatment for years. I tried changing my diet, cold showers, topical steroids, etc. It was seasonal where it got worse in darker months. They got better in sunny months. It has a ‘cigarette paper’ wrinkled looking texture. A biopsy and bloodwork was used to confirm it by an oncologist after a dermatologist suspected it. It’s incurable but can be managed with steroids and topical chemo.

My husband passed in 2022 from "complications with obesity". It was sudden, just one day he woke up feeling like he had the flu and then he coded for 40 minutes until pronounced dead, on our bedroom floor, with 20 EMS around us. He had those patches, Psoriasis, but his doctors said it was nothing to worry about. He also had lymphedema among an alcohol problem. He was warned to stop the drinking, but sadly, I think he just gave up. Due to his condition, size, and overall poor health, they did not opt for an autopsy to find the actual cause, and I was in such a state of shock that I did not push. Now, two years later, I wish I had done the autopsy. I would have liked to know what actually caused his departure. :( This kind of video can really help someone advocate for themselves, or their family/friends. Thank you!

Emma. Maybe she is. But vastly important skill for a physician with clients and colleagues. I too am vastly impressed. I have a very minor effective communications disorder (not uncommon for people with ADD); She can talk really fast, yet is perfectly conceptually clear to me. I hear just fine, even at 77, This disorder not age related. My mother would pound her head with her fists. She would tell me to do something, I would trot off to help her out, and do absolutely the wrong thing! People will tell me something, and I will get the point a day, a month, a year (not uncommon) and once, about 25 years later. Sometimes this can be about important things; sometimes trivial. Not always stressful. Sometimes this does cause me hives!

My son had horrendous eczema in the crooks of his elbows and the back of his knees when he was a year old. We would get it under control and his skin was perfect for a while. When it flared back up it would go from dry looking patches to bleeding in 3 days. The doctor gave him increasingly strong creams but the rashes would stop responding. The only other symptom he has that he was often constipated. A friend finally convinced me to try a dairy free diet, especially as my son has first nations heritage. Once we got his diet correct (he couldn't have any milk proteins not even casien that was in all margarine at the time) his skin cleared up and his bowels became normal. Even though eczema is an allergic reaction the allergy DR we talked to said he wasn't allergic to milk. When he got older he insisted to get milk back and though he has the occasional tiny patch of eczema he is ok now.

I just found this angel of healing today. Unfortunately for me I am 77 y.o. It was over four years ago that I got surgery to by-pass four or five arteries at a VA hospital. The follow-up treatment by the VA medical staff was indifferent and abusive. But regarding my skin, I got "acne" immediately on my sternum. The VA doctor told me it was just an allergic reaction to the stitches they used to close up the wound over my sternum. When I also got red rashes and open sores on my upper chest they said it was just folliculitis - from the hair growing back on my chest that they had shaved off for the surgery - and to not scratch them. Living in Thailand now, I used to think I was better off here, spending my savings at the hospitals - as opposed to the free medical services I was entitled to in the U.S. at VA hospitals. At a dermatology clinic I was given some strong Rx sleeping pills, pain pills, antihistimine pills and a bunch of skin creams. After months of using this stuff, and also castor oil on my skin, it has improved a little. In some ways. But there are lots more skin tags and sunspots and itching on my palms and plantars. So I am convinced I have several of the skin conditions that Violin Md described. And maybe kidney disease, liver cirrhosis, cancer.... I can drop the gluten-containing foods but I probably will also look for a final-solution pill. The world needs more people like Dr. Violin MD.

I have CRPS, complex regional pain syndrome. The marbled "rash" is a stage I went through, going from the warm stage to the cold stage. Unfortunately, orthopedic surgeons only diagnosed me almost 3 years into the complication (dashboard injury). What first only originated in both knees, now had spread to my legs... fully. And walking was no longer an option. I have been disabled since age 23 when I contracted the CRPS. Due to late diagnosis, I have a chronic form of the disease. I am 52 now, and it's stabilized, plateau-ed. Anyway, just wanted to add that marbled skin can often be a sign of something deeper and darker that needs treatment: stat! Plus, I don't think I have to tell you that the pain is beyond all limits. I have been on a pain program (gabapentin/buprenorphine) since 2004. So 20 years of the same dosage all around. My disability unfortunately is here to stay.

She got hers after a stomach flu in childhood and every time that particular stomach flu made the rounds, hers got worse. She made it past 40 but every new drug they tried to use to replace prednisone ended up as an addition to the predisone, nothing else would keep the dermatomyositis away. What happens to doctors over time that they start dismissing patients without doing proper workups? Back in 1997-98, it took me almost a year to get diagnosed with h. pylori, a duodenal ulcer and serious GERD. Went to probably 10 doctors before being sent to a gastroenterologist. One even wrote in notes that she thought I needed to see a psychiatrist. Symptoms were pain mid right abdomen and gaining a lot of weight for no reason, not feeling well. Also told all of them I'd eaten sausage at a market in Ecuador, got immediate diarrhea, was treated with antibiotics and potassium about 2 weeks after being back in USA. Kept asking what else could I have gotten. I gained over 40 pounds in a few months. Once put on regimen of antibiotics for h. pylori, I lost 20 pounds right away.

I’ve got the eczema, allergies and asthma. Not RA though and most of my itchiness is controllable with OTC meds/creams.

Totally fascinating. Everyone needs to know this, if they don't already. Our bodies are the most precious thing we will ever own and should be treated accordingly.

Wow I learned more in this video, than I did from going to a rheumatologist who supposedly specializes in many things I was dealing with, yet couldn’t figure it out for me. All she said was I had high cortisol, and didn’t tell me why. So she’s like, come back in 6 months. Why would I come back to u, if you couldn’t even figure not 1 thing out for me, after running numerous tests.

When my son was 7 he got really sick with horrible abdominal pain, the doctors had no clue what was going on for days until this rash started popping up on his bottom and his lower legs and some on his arms. He was finally diagnosed with HSP. He has had proteinuria since that point…. I found it funny that many doctors interns nurses popped in on him during that hospital stay just to see his rash. That rash saved him from having a colonoscopy too!

Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.

Can you help with the reliable source I would really appreciate it. Many people talk about mushrooms and psychedelics but nobody talks about where to get them. Very hard to get a reliable source here in Australia. Really need!

Yes Steve_porss1, I share similar experiences with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and addiction. Psilocybin mushrooms have been a game-changer for me, aiding greatly in my recovery and sobriety.

I wish those were more accessible here. Microdosing was the next thing I planned for my husband. He's 59 & facing many mental health issues, probably CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma for 8 days. Sadly, I had to get a TPO because he's 6'6, over 300 pounds, and displaying violent behavior, always talking about hurting others. He's really aggressive. If anyone out there knows about BPD, is it common to have an obsession with violence?

I have psoriasis. A couple of times of year the thick skin on my palms and bottoms of my feet peels off. Is this part of my psoriasis? I noticed when you showed a picture of psoriasis on the hands that it looks like mine do when they are peeling. Also, as you know, psoriasis can get worse with stress. At one point I had a highly stressful job. After leaving, within 3-5 days, my psoriasis cleared up almost entirely!

Discoid lupus affects the skin only; systemic lupus erythematosis (SLE) is a body-wide internal autoimmune disease. I have Variegate Porphyria. I had awful symptoms for years but remained undiagnosed (or misdiagnosed) until my 30's, when I started having skin symptoms (redness, hives that turned into blisters and open sores). Porphyria is extremely rare, so no one knew what was wrong with me. When I started becoming paralyzed my parents took me to the Mayo Clinic where I was finally diagnosed. I unfortunately have scars all over my body from past skin lesions but it was my skin symptoms and paralysis that got a correct diagnosis before the disease killed me.

This is the way to get rid of those rashes. You need a multipeptide collagen and keratin treatment with growth factors. Skinlyte has a soap that is loaded not only with collagen but also keratin peptides. It is called Hair & Whole Body Bar. It is fast absorbed because it has an enhanced peptide binding enhancement technology which produces water molecules in a condensation reaction that hydrates skin and hair naturally. It repairs, grows hair, naturally moisturizes, rebuilds and strengthens hair and skin. I got it at Amazon and I am impressed with new benefits I discover every time I use it. I noticed many improvements in my hair, skin and nails. What I like best about it is that it's all natural and without harmful chemicals such as synthetic dyes, fragrance, SLS or preservatives.

*thank you* so much. I went & watched Leslie's story - I share so much with her & went & found the images - yip, that's me as well. was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2021 - which explains a lot though not all. I believe I've had significantly consistently high cortisol for years (years & years) starting in my 20s (am now 54). raised the issue of my hirsutism with my doctor years ago - she just put it down to menopause (ignoring me when I said been an issue since my 20s), current doctor simply does not CARE - I raise stuff with him & he just treats me like I'm... attention seeking ? all I'm trying to do is figure out what is wrong with me. I don't think it's Cushing disease - but maybe Cushing syndrome. only thing is my blood pressure is normal - though I was diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes earlier this year, the weight, esp on my belly (yes, stretch marks since my 20s). feeling lost & hopeless
