Oh my gosh! I had no idea that they can buy things... That means so much more now. Also, I do always try to give 5-stars and I agree, if they didn't get 5-stars, they had to something deliberately... or did NOTHING at all. And that is VERY rare indeed. 99% of my students are excellent. Great video!

Awesome! I'm glad you did this one. That's how I used the stars, and I actually wondered if that's how they intend it. Looks for good work, like adding more sentences or taking initiative when reading a slide, or doing an activity. I give a star! And show my surprise or excitement over what they did. Then they say "thank you teacher," or smile. I figured it's not an overall rating, but then I didn't know and had the thought, gee what if I over-reward and most people use it as an overall performance indicator for the specific lesson? Whew. Glad to know! PS you are good at these videos. Nice work.

The spaceship is part of a vipkid online video game they have. They can buy ships and spacemen (info via a level 5 kid).

I just got my first class booked - it's on August 2nd. Before I am in my class, where are these stars? I see the stars in the top left of my screen as I preview my slides, but in the actual classroom, how do I find/give stars? There is a reward slide, and I have my own reward system, but how do I access these stars ?

Yes! I don't personally do trials, but if the stars are available in the classroom you should give them!

Can you add stars after class?? I just straight up forgot for one class :(

When I went back in to give feedback, I was able to add the stars, but only one at a time. So, I had to keep refreshing my page, and each time I did I was able to click another star, but only one. I hope these process for my student!

Although you can add them, I don't think they really stay there on the student's side. In the past, we had to create a ticket asking them to add forgotten stars. I've heard recently, though, that VIPKID just goes ahead and brings star count up to 5 after every class. I'm not sure if that's true though.
