Idk why I can't make a comment on this video, so forgive me for replying to your 1st pinned post. Anyway, I wanted to let you know the VITAMIX is worth every penny. If you whizz your veggies long enough it actually makes it hot soup. Can make dairy-free cheese, almond milk, macadamia milk, hemp heart milk, etc etc Then use the pulp for "flour" subs. I use mine almost every day. The dairy free cheese is a winner in and of itself for those trying to cut back on dairy!

RE: Vitamix. We bought one two years ago for $299... Maybe it was $349... but it was SO worth it! This after years of Oster, Hamilton Beach, and a Ninja blender. I can make a margarita (I need to find a low-carb recipe for those!) and blend it for just one minute and it's just smooth, creamy, and chunk-free! The Ninja always left little chunks of ice unless we made "snow" with it first. The problem with using "snow" is that you don't know how much you're going to need, and being fluffy a blender full of snow was never enough because it melted so quickly. One thing I learned after buying the Vitamix: The blades are dull, not sharpened! It does everything done using just the pure speed of the blades... and you don't have to worry about them losing their edge. Sorry this is so long, but honestly if we bought a Vitamix when we got married over 18 years ago we would have actually saved money... and had better margaritas. lol Costco frequently has them on sale, especially during the holidays. PS The Vitamix is also self-cleaning!

Being the gadget queen that I am, I own a Vitamix (and might not have bought it if I’d been low-carb at the time). But it is one of the kitchen appliances I own that I would absolutely replace if it died. I have owned mine for years now. The pitcher developed a problem right before my 5-year warranty ran out and Vitamix replaced it-I’ve had it at *least* 10 years and it works as well as the day I bought it. I use it most for cream-based soups, which can be “ketofied.” I think you’d have no regrets if you bought one. They’re fabulous. While I’m here, thanks for all the shrimp info. I have never eaten a shrimp and know nothing about them. You gave very helpful information, as always!

you can use half the ingredient for 1 person and use the smaller blender I think.

I have found that his recipes, being carnivore, are great for bringing down carb counts on items that are typically higher in carbs, even as a keto version. The satiety factor is also increased due to the higher protein levels. I really enjoy his channel, almost as much as yours. 🤭

Yeah, it allows you to have sides that don't raise the carb count and you can leave the carbs for the really delicious veggies like tomatoes, onions, garlic or the pine nuts of a pesto

I love that you validate my "tiny little shrimp" quote with this size of shrimp! I'm a Canadian living in Sweden and it frustrates me to no end when they call these "jumbo" size!

🥰🤗 You mentioned using two cooking methods, but this can be batch made and put in the fridge for later use. Not sure how it would fair coming out of the freezer, but definitely fridge stable!

I'm pro Blendtec over a Vitamix. I've used both and love that Blendtec doesn't have sharp blades. I've had mine for over 17 years and it still works perfectly. There are many other reasons I love my Blendtec but not enough space to list them. I'm not affiliated with them just very happy with the blender.

I've never seen frozen salad shrimp at Publix down here in Tampa. Maybe use the little ones in the can perhaps, but probably have that additive you mentioned and take 10 cans to make 1 1/2 cups? At 72, I'm a Walmart snob, LOL

Hey Wes! We've had our Vitimix 18-20 yrs now. We did have to replace a lost leg and a part for the variable speed, just recently ( a total of $40 off amazon ). Over the years our blender has been invited to parties with us :) I honestly don't regret giving into to my husband to purchase the blender all those years ago. I almost had a heart attack when he wanted to spend $450 for a blender!! We used it many years for frozen drinks and soups. Since becoming keto I use it so much more! Thanks so much for the review I was worried if it would have a shrimp taste. Glad to know it doesn't. Thank you!!

I don't know about newer Vitamix especially, but they are more than a blender. I soldvmine for lack of space in a motorhome butostly since I no longer ground grains or other tasks

Not everybody lives in a state where there's a Kroger's. We used to have them here. Haven't in 50 years. Shrimp also contain carbs.
@HighfalutinLowCarb6 ай бұрын
Check to see if they have sister stores in your area. These stores also carry Kroger Brand foods, even though they aren’t an actual “Kroger” by name. For instance, we don’t have a Kroger, but Ralph’s is a Kroger brand. (List is below.) But the takeaway of that segment wasn’t to only shop at Kroger, it was meant to say to read labels and look for shrimp without the STP preservative, and don’t discount the store-brand options wherever you shop. And yes, shrimp does have trace carbs… about the same amount as in whole eggs and heavy cream. Very minimal. Other Kroger-brand stores: Baker’s City Market Dillons Food 4 Less Foods Co Fred Meyer Fry’s Gerbes Jay C Food Store King Soopers Kroger Mariano’s Metro Market Pay-Less Super Markets Pick’n Save QFC Ralphs Ruler Smith’s Food and Drug
