I struggled with addiction for almost 10 years. I have been in and out of jail/prison for years. I now have my Bachelor's degree in criminal program support services. 📚 I hope to use my experience in the system and my degree to help others better understand addiction and our prison system. This story is based on my own personal opinion and experiences.

Okay, I was looking for a comment like that from someone in US. This is it, you don't have to spend much money to clothe your child and put shoes on. Especially this young. Second hand is the smartest choice for this age as they can't really ruin much clothes because they grow out of them so fast.

Also, there are even places that someone could get a jacket for free. With her platform, she could literally just ASK for a jacket for her kid and she would have one delivered immediately. No excuses.

That is where I still get the majority of my clothes. Clothes now a days are crappy materials that don't last and high prices for the junk as well. I end up going to a few higher end thrift stores and find an entire closet full that will last me years for the same price I could buy 1 top at a normal store. ( I haven't needed to clothes shop since high school except for a few pieces here and there for work and such.)

And this is why I never became a nurse. Most nurses I have encountered are like her. Most I have learned are sociopaths and the scarier ones are narcissists. And how I was treated by nurses as a Medical Assistant. Always worthless to the RN I encountered, even if I was helping them clean a patient when I didn’t have to.

Children need their jackets in the cold. Children need food when they’re hungry. Children need an environment where they’re safe and can thrive. If you cannot provide any of these things or if you will not be willing to work on providing these things, then you will not have a successful relationship with your children, they may be taken away from you, and you will go to prison facing child abuse charges. And I know that there are many people having a rough time, but you have to remember that children are innocent beings who deserve love and care. And I don’t like saying this but if you cannot provide care, then having and raising children isn’t for you.

Or parents could be taught how to be parents instead of be called evil. People, all people, are the sum of their experiences, and some people have horrific experiences. This is a trend in the Usa, so i'm thinking how were these people raised? Were they tortured? It sure seems like that. Perhaps the answer, since torturing children is a trend in the usa, you should look into mental illness and the way these parents were raised

Regardless if there’s mental health issues going on there’s absolutely no excuse for making your child terrified of you. The way that baby flinched and tried to cover his face when his dad handed him something along with the bruises should tell you what kind of hell he’s been through already. Evil is evil. End of story. It’s time we stop coddling monsters like them and hold them accountable for their actions.

For me it was the way he sat at the table just watching his parents eat. Clearly unhappy and in distress but knowing better than to show his distress. It reminded me of the documentary on the Duggars where they talked about "blanket training". Putting a baby on a blanket with toys around them and everytime they tried to grab something, they'd flick their hand away. Until they finally gave in and sat there completely still without showing any wants or needs. As one of the Duggar children put it., "a perfect victim".

I was raised in a household where it was drilled home that "you keep certain things behind closed doors" and that helped keep a lot of my parents' abusive behavior hidden, and even as an adult I still am learning "hey, that thing they did to me was wrong." I 100% believe that they are doing worse and not filming it because if she's OK with publicizing this behavior, this is only what she deems appropriate for her public facing presence.

When my son was first learning to "keep his hands to himself" he was at the park and stumbled upon a group of young boys, preteen aged I'm guessing, they were all hanging out eating takis- my kid being so comfortable sharing EVERYTHING in our home took this as an open invitation to reach in the bag plop a seat and join the party. I was so embarrassed but also, how great that my son who had never really been around strangers felt safe enough to share because that is what he had always done at home?! We had a talk about stranger danger, and keeping our hands to ourselves for his safety of course.... but the innocent blind trust was a direct result of the comfort and safety he had always felt up until that point.

Everyone, especially children, deserves access to food that isn't a fight. Doesn't matter what that looks like. Yeah, I'd love it if it wasn't an issue almost every meal trying to get something nutritious and affordable for my 8yo to eat. Using this outdated logic is just going to harm her further so she'll be heightened emotionally and dysregulated from being hungry.

I’m 22 with a bachelor’s degree and a job… if I go out shopping with my mom and see something I need (like a winter jacket recently) she often INSISTS on buying it for me. I never expect it though, and not everyone has to do this for ADULT children, but it shows that in loving parents that urge to care for your children never goes away as old as they get. (Of course different means to buy things is a factor). But for a baby?! Making them freeze? Are you kidding me?! I would buy them a spare jacket for $35 if we just went out and forgot it I guess for some reason, because you want them to be safe and healthy and not get sick or be uncomfortable… 😞 If it’s a little chilly my dog wears a jacket and she has a layer of hair 🥲 but I do it so she can feel secure and cozy. That’s just basic kindness let alone actual parenting 😭

The thing is you don't have to spend $30 for a winter jacket for a kid. You can buy it second hand, save money and don't worry about it bein ruined. I don't know how much second hand winter jacket for a toddler is but it's probably around $5-$10. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not from US. You also don't need to buy that expensive baby bum cream, you can make it cheaper and a better one yourself. And that way, having basically the best bum cream you don't have to buy Pampers but you can buy cheaper ones (I didn't like Pampers anyway). Also shoes. Their feet grow so fast you can basically get almost perfect and little worn shoes second hand dirt cheap. I remember buying 2nd hand shoes for my kiddo that were new 80€ (almost the same in USD) and payed 20€ for them.

@@OliviaTrevino-pv7ffIf she wanted to she would. There’s Good-Will, SHEIN, Facebook Market place, and I’m sure there’s a blanket lying around the house… and I know that baby would have snuggled right into one of his “moms” sweaters until they got something. Wild.

There is a similar case here in Australia with a tikok parent whom was deliberately making her child sick and it is recent but the child in question was placed in foster care pending investigation thought to mention it here.

I understand not wanting to spend a lot on clothes because they grow SO FAST, but there’s resale shops with cheaper options, Facebook marketplace! Hell, I’d go without a winter jacket just to buy a jacket for my child if I couldn’t afford it!

@ yeah that’s not justifiable at all 🫠 if I can blow money on things I don’t NEED for myself, then I can “blow money” on a $35 jacket that might fit for a month or so 😅

She also makes THOUSANDS on social media. They spent $1500 on hunting gear, paid $600 to the church in tithings, eat out every chance they get and she has a freaking soda machine at home. Money isn’t the issue.

What child twitches so much in fear, if he knows that he is with his main secure person, ie his own mother, who (this time) in fact just wants to give him some form of food? This was actually a great 'social experiment' in toddler's behavior (which I'm currently learning about in school). Unfortunately, only those toddlers who are not used to their mother's gentle movements, and her tenderness towards them in general. Such children are accustomed to the sudden and rough movements of their parents. This is especially noticeable if the child twitches in such a way that he unconsciously tries to protect his tiny head. This was obnoxiously good example of an abused kid. The saddest thing of all is that one day that toddler will be an adult who in 90 % of cases turns into the same people who raised him. Violence breeds violence and it is a vicious circle (these are always people who did not seek help from a psychiatrist in time). 🤨

the extra problem in all these situations is that also the fostersystem is horrible and abusive a lot of the time. so even tho ofcourse cps SHOULD do something... the chance of the kid getting another horrible grown up is very high thats what worries me so much.

I know in my bones too. The second I saw what was happening. It’s abuse, especially once I saw the big picture of the withholding food. The child fletching like these are things I’ve seen in my every day life with families I work with and those are the signs. People try to brush it off as people jumping to conclusions because of one video but no, it’s multiple videos of concerning things.

The way she says "it's past his nap time so..."... well that was your poor planning, not his. Of course it can get late while playing at the park but wouldn't the normal solution to this be a) give him a decent share of the pastry and some water instead of lunch, lose the ipad so he can nap in the car b) stop somewhere on the way for a quick lunch, go home and put him to bed

I can't relate because I didn't expect things from my parents because they were busy and I never became a parent. I realized I projected my parents' pattern over my partners, where a spouse is an associate and the family a company, so I live on my own for the good of everyone.

There’s a worse video with her eating a quesadilla the dad is hitting him in the background. Just the boys face when she opens the door after he’s been locked in his room he’s terrified his eyes are so wide open . Or when the dad put him behind the stove or the pumpkin video his poor little face is so scared . She just tosses him around one video she pulls his hair shoves food in his mouth the way she is so sloppy and rough with him just tossing him around grabbing him by his arms is so tell tale . The boy is terrified of the dad . It’s so clear . She seems so unphased .

Please take a moment to read this before engaging with trolls in the comment section. These people are not socially capable of intelligent discussion, due to their stubborn mindset, and attempting to reason with them will get you nowhere. The only way to win a fight with a troll is to not engage in communication at all. The more you try to argue with these damaged individuals, the more aggressive and self-satisfied they will become. They make up the minority of this channel’s community; if you don’t let yourself take their bait, the channel will be no worse off. Do not take their bait. And also, remember that as scummy as these people may behave, they are also people, with their own problems to work out. Don’t hate them, for they-in their own eyes-are not the bad guys, and the full impact of their behaviorism is lost on them. Accept that, though they have absolutely zero justification for their inappropriate behavior, they are humans too, who still have a chance for redemption that only they can achieve. I will post this comment on each of Jessica Kent’s videos, as a PSA. By liking this comment, you can make it more accessible to the quick scroller, and minimize drama. You can help Jessica lead a healthier mindset by avoiding these trolls, promoting this comment, and taking three deep breaths before you speak. I encourage all of you to speak up for your content creators, but not to waste breath on those who cannot be reasoned with.
