As a homeowner, I keep a small 25' sink snake on hand. If that can't clear the clog, it's time to call a plumber. Not because I can't rent a commercial drain snake, but because I don't have the years of experience to catch weird little problems that a plumber can. Last time I had a plumber out, he fixed my problem, then took 20 minutes to walk the house with me, show me key maintenance items, point out potential future issues I could take care of myself, and make sure everything else was solid.

Plumber to plumber, totally with you on everything here Roger. As my grandfather always said great minds think alike. What blew my mind the most in here is I did not realize there was a fitting that exists for connecting copper to pex with the use of a propress. Mostly run pex type A (we call it upanor or wirsbo usually) so not sure it would work for us but need to find out. Make some jobs way easier and quicker for the customer

Hey just a quick reminder to my plumbing bros out there. A coworker and I were on a job last week and he went to cut the main copper line under the home to replace the prv and he literally had the piss shocked out of him when he touched the copper. Had to go to ER to make sure his heart hadn’t been damaged. If you suspect a home has electrical issues stick a touch less voltage meter to make sure it’s safe. Be careful fuys

The lady that installed the PEX did an admirable job. The only big issue I see is her connection to the top or supply inlet and outlet needs at least 18 inches clearance before connecting to PEX, Think she didn't want the hassle of running the PEX inside the walls.

For a slab repair, the best repair is a reroute. Only a matter of time before the next pinhole. The second best is spot repairs. Replace and solder sections of bad pipe... But both of these options are going to run you at a minimum of 2500 to 8000. For my customers who cant afford the repairs, I will redirect them to the link to these putty balls and try that first. Havent had any complaints so far. And the epoxy is safe for potable water. There is literally a company that dedicates themselves to doing Epoxy coating on problematic copper lines for entire properties.

I have wrapped a toilet brush with doubled grocery bags before and used it as in improvised plunger. yeah it can work if it's just a toilet stoppage in the trapway or at the horn. one of them last minute things and no plunger/auger.

The white pipe coming from the ceiling could be a drain for an above ceiling HVAC. I had an apartment that drained the drip pan from the condenser into my tub/shower.
@throttlebottle5906

i pack disposals full of ice when off, crank the water on full and turn it on until no more noise, turn off and repeat three or four times. keep water running, as you don't want it to turn into an hard packed icy in the trap/drain. had that happen in winter in a cold location of home, hot water/melted away eventually.

I’m positive that the water line dropping through the ceiling into the shower is for a rain shower head that isn’t installed yet.

I have seen many times, the furnace/air handler condensate overflow pan pipe ran through ceiling into shower/above bath tub. drip dirp and oh my a/c has issues. oh, also from water heater safety pan, if they're in attic.
@throttlebottle5906
@throttlebottle5906 Ай бұрын
6:50 in an attic, so probably a full water heater, with pressure released or condensate pan/line really backed up.

Every time I wash my dishes, when I drain the hot soapy water I turn the garbage disposer on. That way the hot soapy water gets churned around inside the garbage disposer and loosens up any food pieces stuck inside the garbage disposer and washes then down the drain. The running garbage disposer also acts like a centrifugal pump and causes all that water to rush through the pipes and the P-trap and helps scour them of any deposits stuck to them to help keep them clean. Then I unstop the rinse sink and let that clean hot water flow out normally and get rid of any soapy water in the drain. Never ever had any problem with any type of odor coming out of the garbage disposer. In my opinion, clean has no odor.

If you have a clogged toilet more than once a year save money and go to home depot and buy a damn stool auger for like $50 because if its actually the toilet thats what the professionals gonna use and guarantee they charge at minimum 50% more than that lol

The power expansion tools is 400 bucks. Manual tool is 99 and 30-40 bucks for the expansion head or 140-169 for the tool and 1/2, 3/4, and 1” expansion heads as a kit. 1/2 inch is 4 pumps and 3/4 is 7-8 pumps and you need leverage for the 3/4. The 1” I would definitely use a power tool. My friend and I did the 3/4 with manual tool and it was a real pain in the 🫏.

aquatherm is the name of the fuseing system you saw, Ferguson sells it, i had to get certified to install it on a molding company that uses chillers to extract the product from molds, no condensation, no scale or calcium build up, a german manufactured pipe system, its expensive, at least to two inch i ran and hung off unistrut, you cant make a crooked connection cause once the fitting and pipe connect thats it , heat gun and a jig is used, also no drying time required, can pressure up immediately. pretty cool stuff
