Like the splice idea, you could shoot video, take the stills from that and maybe edit them to look like they were spliced out of actual film and have those be the images you present the clothing with. Wasn’t too hard to get that as a base idea and all you would have to do is just keep toying around with different things you like to do to make it better

Correct me if I’m wrong he said take on multiple projects but then at the end he said create in a box. Can somebody explain this?
@greyarea71814 жыл бұрын
I think he meant to work on 6 different projects or types of projects. So something in fashion, film, photography, etc OR some pants, some shirts, some printing, some cut and sew, etc, (just a variety of different themes, mediums or intentions) And then while working in those different themes, or mediums, he suggests to limit the amount of tools you have to create in that space. An example of an exercise that combines both of these ideas would be: Work in only black and white for 1. a fashion video, 2. a t shirt you plan to sell, 3. a wedding photo for a client, 4. a silly comic strip for a friend, 5. a photoshop collage, 6. an abstract painting. I think Virgil is suggesting that if you do that, you will probably come up with more new ideas about “black and white” than if you only painted in black in white and did not explore other mediums, techniques, or intentions for using black and white. And if you make nothing and just think all day, you wont build off past things youve made and wont have as many new ideas.
