Virtua Fighter is BACK and Fighting Games have been Saved

It is my extreme and personal honour to let you all know that Virtua Fighter is indeed back! Now unfortunately I don't have a gameplay trailer or anything like that to show you, its simply just confirmation in its purest form but... as a lifelong VF fan especially over the last well, long time, confirmation is more than enough for now. I guess look forward to the Game Awards for more. So in this video I got the news for you, also if you haven't been following along some other details that sorta leaked out along the way over the months, and also maybe a few other vids you should check out in the video description so go nuts!

Bandai needs to revive Soul Calibur but Tekken just overshadows it. And I love DOA but I doubt it will ever be mainstream because of booba and abysmal monetization.

​​@@foreal7712Booba is not the problem. What makes DoA went into obscurity is the increasingly perverted nature of it. Sexy killer ninjas is one thing, but sexy bumbling schoolgirls is another thing. The former is fantasy, the later is just creepy and gross. Notice the more they added bumbling schoolgirl characters the further they are fron the mainstream. DoA went from making you uncomfortable playing in front of your parents, to making you uncomfortable playing in front of your friends. It's that bad.

@@howdoknow They had the wrong idea. They tried to downplay the sexiness, but actuallt sex sells. Sex always sells. Stellar Blade won't be as successful if not because of the sexy characters. Concord is the opposite example. Sexy killer ninjas with supernatural power and ninjutsu are cool. Sexy underage schoolgirls with bouncing huge boobs fighting each other while acting all cute is not cool, it's perverted. The devs are so otakus themselves they couldn't see the difference. They thought people don't like booba, so they pretend to be a super serious no-nonsense fighters. But it's the wrong idea! It's the creepiness of the pedo-like approach that makes people uncomfortable, not the sexiness. They even put MORE cute underage girls characters and make them the MAIN CHARACTERS. Imagine doing that while pretending to tone down sexiness. Smh.

If its a wall, it needs to be a proper wall u cannot get juggled over. I know there were a couple in vf5 but all walls need to be proper walls. Maybe add a few infinite stages like in tekken.

Eh, like you mentioned VF is only grounded when compared to other fighters. It’s still a series with a ninja who can jump 12ft in the air, brainwashed assassins, a megaladon, the Illuminati, and android lady that’s secretly the ninja’s mother as the final boss. It’s no UFC or Undisputed. They should lean more into its ‘martial arts movie’ to be more flashy but not go too far to Tekken levels.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown is playable on Xbox series consoles via backwards compatibility but you can't play online. You can access the online menus but you can not connect to matches.

Now of course with VF back, the question is what becomes of Tekken? Naturally the answer is Tekken is now dead. Tekken 8 had a good run but its time is up. The cheap copy tends to fade away when the original shows back up. You don't need Marty Jannetty around when you can have Shawn Michaels after all. Good run tekken, you kept the seat warm.

Tekken isn't dead. It's only the hard-core is sick of it of it & even then, they are just going put up with it anyway. VF isn't going to put a dent in Tekken because VF is boring & nobody is interested, therefore there won't be any tournaments, therefore there won't be a competitive scene. If you want a more accurate wrestling analogy, Tekken is Shawn Michaels & VF is Bret Hart after Goldberg kicked him in the head.

As stated in the video, VF was the original esport in Japan and was so huge that a lot of vets you know cut their teeth on it in the 90s. Sure, Tekken grew into its own as the years went by but no one forgot VF. Hell, their tournament scene is still pretty good for a 20+ year old game.

I'm so glad that it's been officially confirmed! I'm a huge VF fan, it's easily my favorite 3-D fighter and in my top 3 favorite fighting game series period. The game grabbed me back in 1994 at 8 years old and has never let go since. Man this is WELL overdue, we should have had a new VF years ago, but hey better late than never, i'm extremely excited and optimistic. I just hope SEGA sticks to what makes VF "VF", no flashy over the top super moves, no projectiles, and no lame comeback mechanics. VF doesn't need that stuff. Just give us the same deep pure hand to hand authentic martial arts gameplay just with more characters, modes, and rollback netcode. Please please don't ruin VF SEGA. Edit: Quest mode is in? Yes! That was always one of my favorite single player modes in any fighting game ever. Man I poured TONS of hours into it back in VF4 Evo. Good move!

I'm totally gonna play more of the Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, I main Akira Yuki cause I like the Tetsuzanko/Back attack, it just looks so cool.
