rewatching this after about two months of proper training and i can slip the shots some of them, but Jason is very dynamic and he throws punches that most beginners and amateurs don't throw this is fine you eat a few shots or block some but they are something to get used to and if this was legit my beginner sparring i know this would freeze me in my shoes cause i don't have any true answer to these punches i am used to 1 2 3 4 in a row etc. rather then 2-5-3-3 or 3-1-2 and basic but different combo's then that most people in the first month or so are just use to 1-2-3's so yeah good vid i am not sure if it's good for a beginner i will try at half speed for fun tomorrow and see but i believe beginner vs beginners sparring wouldn't be this dynamic

yeah man BUT Nothing replaces technique and sparring so practice get it to a high level and then use it in sparring

Here's a tip I found very useful to slip hand and crosses. Before you get to business, note the stance of your opponent. Southpaw or orthodox. While looking at the eyes, focus on the hand whose shoulder is forward. So for orthodox focus on the left hand and for southpaw, focus on the right. Hear me out. Suppose your opponent is orthodox stance. Te body movement required for his/her left hand to land a blow is negligible. Therefore, a focus on the chest tells you nothing, because a left hand strike needs barely any body movement to land, since its already in front. A right strike to land however would take a lot of body movement since it's that much further back as compared to the left hand. If you focus on the left hand, your focus will enable you to see left handed punches coming from a mile away, and body movement will let you see right hand punches coming from a mile away. It's the other way around for southpaw. This may be bullshit since I barely have any background in boxing, but it still helped me a lot

Hi, thanks. I know you have to spar for real and go to a real boxing gym. This channel is the closest thing i will get to boxing and that is ok with me. I just want to know 4-5 combos, cardio and a little bit of footwork. Just some basic stuff. And i believe that is why the coach does this. Everyone knows you can't learn to box from youtube. Thanks for your concern though :)

Now during Covid lockdown would be perfect to release another one of these. My suggestion is something possibly controversial, which is to shoot in in portrait.. Probably the only type of video ever that would be better in portrait! We really need to see the virtual opponent head to toe and continually assess openings to counter. The normal landscape video especially when close up and with lens distortion just doesn't give the full natural view needed. To achieve a flat image without lens distortion you need to place camera far away and use zoom.
