That pink comparison at ~6:40 made me laugh bc I have a shirt that exact colour and it looks the same on us both. My skin is a little darker, so the muted pink almost blends with my skin too much, but it's that same washed out effect.

This is so close to my coloring. Once I got rid of everything autumn a few years ago Igot a lot of compliments. I try to wear winter colors but I feel like I have drop of spring, specially in the blue comparison at 9:18 , that bright blue usually looks really good on me.

this was helpful! i've known for a while that i look awful in beige, earth colours and grey hued colours. i'm pretty sure im a bright winter since i look amazing in really vivid colours

This is very helpful! And I like the four further divide better than the typical 12 seasons which I’m not a true fit. I think I’m also a bright winter but I can pull of true winter, similar to Cheryl. I used my photos next to hers and I can see the different. I’m also an East Asian so this is particularly helpful.

You previously said to look out for the harmony of colours rather a disconnect, but you seem to have chosen contrast over well blended colours (in the cool and warm section) I’m confused - should we look for harmony/ blending or contrast?

​@@mo-ii6fo exactly. to add, we should look the effect certain color gives you in a bigger picture. the right color should shift the focus onto the person instead of the color itself, they would look healthier, skintone is more even, imperfections are faded. it also enhance the natural coloring of the person (more golden/rosy, softer/brighter depending on their season). note that it's not a restrictive rules, bcs for a warm undertone person, the color that brings out rosiness of the skin would read as sunburn/flushiness, bright undertone with soft color will wash them out etc.

Depends on what level of contrast the person has between their natural features, as to what level of contrast they can tolerate with their colour palette. Eg. If you had someone who's dominant feature was their LIGHTness, then the amount of contrast that would harmonise with them would be much lower. Cheryl naturally has a medium-deep level of contrast, so low contrast colours wouldn't give her enough definition to match her overall appearance. I hope this makes sense. Carol, please feel free to correct me if I've misunderstood here.

4:08 wooo wait! Now you really caught my attention- this is the first time ever I hear somebody say it blends TOO MUCH with her. Totally makes sense!!! In many color videos here on yt it is only pointed out what does blend in, like that is the only goal. Very interesting🤓💓

Would you be able to talk more about bright vs clear at some point! some people don’t seem to understand why as a true spring, i’m not muted/soft because my features are comparatively delicate and lower contrast. and i can’t explain it properly! 😊

This was so interesting! I didn't know bright winter was a winter-spring combination palette. Is there also a summer-spring combination palette or maybe an autumn-summer palette?

Summer + spring is light summer or light spring Summer + autumn is soft summer or soft autumn If you see the color season circle they are positioned next to each other, the difference in general is if you are cooler or warmer. For Carol's system, you can also be neutral undertone, in that case you can be True Light or True Soft. If you don't have the influence of other seasons, you can be True Summer.

Is there actually any point to East Asians getting their colours analyzed since they're supposedly "Winter" about 99.99% of the time anyway (just because they've got black hair and dark eyes)? Never mind that East Asians can have vastly different skin tones. They're apparently almost all "Winters" just because of their hair eyes, lol.
