Thank you so much! I suffered a Colles fracture to my dominant arm in October with subsequent ORIF. I’ve been in hand therapy and I cannot supinate. I am so very frustrated. I don’t want to go back to work until I can at least hold something in my hand, turn a door handle and eat properly with a fork. I fractured my left wrist in 2002 and was never able to fully supinate that hand, but I was able to cope because I still had my right one to take my meds and receive change. You’ve given me some hope.

Michelle, you are a game changer. Thank you so much for your thoughtful, helpful, and instructive videos. I had two plates put in my right (dominant) wrist on Friday, June 9, 2023 after a violent fall a couple weeks ago while hiking. My surgeon wanted me to work on light pronation and supination the day after surgery. It has been difficult, but your pillowcase exercise from another video plus these 5 have helped me so much with minimal pain. Your videos on finger movement while in a splint had me making a full fist before surgery which expedited post surgery recovery. I am 5 days removed from my surgery and I am literally touch typing this comment on a keyboard while in my post surgery splint. You really make a difference and your detailed explanations down to the bone level is beyond helpful. I don’t know how to praise you enough.

Thank you for explaining about the pain and stiffness, it's been a month out of the cast and have only had two 30 minutes physio sessions. I don't feel I am getting anywhere. But now I have found your channel, I am more hopeful. I was beginning to think that I would not be able to work again. My accident was almost 3 months ago, and my last plaster was on for 5 weeks but too tight, so was in a lot of pain. Thank you for the video.

Will the bulls eye wrist band help the forearm ?

Thank you so much. I've broken all wrist ligaments with ulnar desinsertion and druj instability. After surgery my wrist was completely rigid, 0% movement.... Now, 2 months after surgery and a lot of pain with kine and also exercices at home, so much better. I still missing movement on supination and pronation, do you have exercices for pronation? Thanks a lot, your channel is very useful!

Hows your wrist now? Could you please share your story here? I broke my radius and Ulna and have plates on both the bones. It's been 2 weeks since the slab is off and I can hardly supinate 25%.(it was 15% after week 1 so definitely some improvement) I've been doing PT sessions 4-5 days a week. But progress is very very slow and it's hampering my daily activities as I can hardly supinate

@@sushilsalins3576 hi, it's been a little bit more than one year since surgery and I've recovered almost 100% of movement. The only thing is that sometimes I have pain with some repetitive movements (computer work). Surgeon still controlling me as I have minor synovitis, but in general I would say that I didn't expect to be that good today. My advice, go to physiotherapist and do all exercices kine gives you, it is painful and desperating sometimes as you don't see progress but that is the most important step on recovery. Good luck!

@@VirtualHandCare Madam, I had a radial head surgery 4 months back. I was advised to do some exercises but after 3 months, I still couldn't twist more than 30%. I then had physiotherapy for a month (maybe too late?) but its still stuck at 50%. I hope it isn't permanent. Please do reply

Wow, thanks for your knowledge, great video. I'm 12 weeks into recovery and I've been struggling to roate my wrist fully. I've only just managed to get passed a. 1/4 turn from the neutral position with my own muscle strength, been having to use warm water and use my other hand as passive movement by pushing on just below my thumb to help it get further down. However, this always seems to cause pain to the pinky side of the my wrist, perhaps to much torque to the wrist. I'll give the above ago, and see how much I improve over the next few weeks, but you made some interesting comments, so hopefully more range and less pain 😁

@@VirtualHandCare Hey Michelle, overall very good thanks. Just one question, the ball exercise. Is it still okay to carry out for someone like me self who can't roate all the way over. And of so how many rep's would you suggest to carry out to help build up. Many thanks Edward

Is this ok for TFCC repair? I’m five weeks post surgery and can not rotate supination.
@VirtualHandCare2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the surgery and your surgeon’s protocol. Some do not want you to rotate that early but ask your doctor.

Thanks for providing this well explained insight. My supination of 45 degrees (as measured by a physiotherapist) plays havoc with trying to play barre chords on guitar. I'll now focus on stretching the muscles (etc) around my radius.

Hello, I have been watching your videos and listening to some of the tips and suggestions that you give. I fell and broke my radius and ulna in the end of February. I am nearly done with a month of PT. I find your information helpful and reassuring to know that I am doing a particular exercise properly and then finding additional ones to support my recovery. Thanks for sharing these!

I'm 4 weeks after fracture and 2 weeks post OP. Can't really supinate much. I've also had soreness in one of the anterior muscles. Overall the arm looks weak as hell. I hope it'll recover quickly. Tomorrow I'll see a physiatrist to start exercising.

I really appreciate your video's. You explain so well and I find your exercises both doable and effective. Having broken both the radius and ulna and now suffering from shoulder pain due to repetitive stress from marking exam papers, your advice on supination and pronation of the forearm, appears to be the answer to my woes. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you and your approach.

Hello. I had a bad fracture of my right radius which required surgery, a plate, and screws. I also learned that my ulna came away from my radius so there is a noticeable space between them in x-rays, and it juts out noticeably from the side of my right wrist. Supination is super difficult and painful for me and I'm afraid I won't get it back. It's been six months, and when I stretch to supinate my wrist cracks and my elbow hurts, making me feel like maybe I'm going as far as is physically possible ( about 130 degrees, if pronate is 0 and complete supinate is 180). Do you have any suggestions? Should I keep pushing it? Thank you for your advice...
