I love the double-broad Homo Sapiens that you guys special ordered for me (thank you!), and yeah--if the "regular" nibs (i.e. fine, medium, etc.) are wet, that double-broad is basically a paint brush. But in the best possible way! I adore the way it writes. I typically take a different "nice" pen to work with me every day, but the Homo Sapiens has found its way into my laptop bag every day since I got it. You need some sturdy paper to handle the fire hose of ink that it puts out, but it's sooooo worth it. With a nicely-shading ink in it (I've been using my beloved Noodler's Antietam), it's about the most enjoyable writing experience I've ever had. It's made out of freaking volcano!

Visconti had to develop a special mixture of volcanic rock and resin so the pen would hold ink since it's naturally such a hygroscopic material. It's really cool! Hi Brian I liked your review on visconty bronze age .I have a small handwriting so I think ef nib would be suitable. Recently I purchased a Lamy 2000 medium nib but I think that is a bit on the broader side according to my standard/estimation. I was a bit confused over pelican souveran m1000 and homosapiens bronze age. Pelican is way too expensive and its inconsistency regarding the nib size is quite disconcerting. After purchasing an expensive pen and sending it to a nib meister to get it writing is not what I wanted. If I order from you can you ship it to India. Also please explain the filling mechanism, it's a bit confusing. In Lamy 2000 we just need to unscrew and tighten the knob. In bronze age do we have to turn the knob and pull it all the way back? I didn't get it. Please reply

Hello, are these the very same nibs that Visconti used on their Opera Elements pens? I wanted to get a Cherry Juice Opera Elements pen, but I kept reading unfavourable reviews about poor ink flow. Supposedly they used a Dreamtouch nib, but maybe it's a different generation. For a pen of that price ($600), I don't feel that I should have to send it out for tweaking. Anyway, your H.S. pen writes nicely, but did you notice any trouble with ink flow, skips, etc.? Thanks.

Flex pens can be pretty finicky, so I'd steer clear of those to start. But if you're looking for line variation, stub nibs can achieve that without much of a headache. Can someone please answer me if I am actually able to write with the EF nib in a high angle? Something like 75º or 80º between the pen and the paper. Thank you.
@Gouletpens5 жыл бұрын
Just tried that writing angle with the EF Homo Sapiens. It writes just fine, but I do think you get a bit more feedback from that angle. Ink flows a little dry as well, but overall still a good writing experience. - Colin

@@Gouletpens I really apreciate that you took your time to answer me. I actually like this kind of feedback, so it might turns out to be my next pen and the first from Goulet Pens ;)

is it a double reservoir power filler
@Gouletpens8 жыл бұрын
This particular model is just a single reservoir power filler, but we did just launch the Homo Sapiens London Fog (www.gouletpens.com/visconti-homo-sapiens/c/381/?sortBy=productName+asc&facetValueFilter=Tenant~Body_Color%3Ablue) that is a double reservoir. - Colin

I cannot persuade myself why I need a pen that is more expensive than my Pelikan m1000, the m1000 is already the furthest expense I can go.

I'm not sold on fountain pens it's touch and go meaning it could write great or it could write terrible and for the price on these pens it would be insanity to have such an expensive pen that does not write to your liking .

Joshua Nolan so many pans are near clones of each other. This pen I find extremely beautiful personally. I do however have an affinity towards the rustic. Antiqued leather, I have such I think are fantastic, this will fit right in

A lot of people seem to have more money than they know what to do with. Lava? Are you serious? Manufactured in some villa someplace? Includes an advertising folder? Dear heaven. OK I do have a Montblanc 149 (which is one reason I don't need a ridiculous pen made of lava) so I'm not against expensive pens. And it's your money. Enjoy.

For the price, the fit and finish of this pen actually looks kinda terrible. Take, for instance, the logo on the pen clip? Was it spray painted on?
