Really appreciate a new review on an “old” pen. Many of the reviews on this are from years ago and video quality has gotten so much better. Also I really really appreciate making the reviews your own. Many people try to copy more well know reviewers. Keep it up.

I am always going to give real reviews since I am usually reviewing things I bought myself. Actually... I have only ever had one thing on this channel that I didn't pay for and it was a pocket notebook. It was pretty okay.

Sweet! This was my very first Visconti pen. Now, I'm up to 13; ranging from the "old style" Voyagers, Homo Sapiens, Operas and Opera Masters. Love them all! Enjoy that new pen ... Cheers!

I feel the use of novel materials that have a local link is such a creative touch. It must be nice for people from an area to be able to write with a pen made from material that is unique to where they grew up or once lived, especially if they were far away from home. Very good review. Thanks.

I have the Homo Sapiens Steel Age with a palladium nib. It is one of my favourite pens in my collection. It writes beautifully.

Every time I use this pen, or see a review, or think about it, it completely blows my mind that the pen is made from lava. LAVA!!!! Very unique feel to it as well.
@CraigRoccanova Жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s so different from everything out there. It’s also so comfortable to use!
@ironmic9244 Жыл бұрын
@@CraigRoccanova Indeed, it is comfortable to use. I know it's a bigger pen, as you showed in the comparisons, but for some reason it doesn't feel as big, nor do I think of it as such when I think of big or oversize pens for some reason. You should see the Opera Master. That is big and heavy.

I’d love to see a version of this with the clear center band that’s in the crystal dream model. Having a middle ground between those models I think would be really nice.

Love the new pen Craig. It’s one of my favorite top 10 in my collection. I’ve never put shimmer ink in any of my vac fillers though as they are impossible to clean out. Great video.

Congratulations on your first pen from Italy! Italian pens are very similar to Italian sports cars and Italian women: They're beautiful, interesting, but a bit temperamental and definitely expensive.

Ooo, I knew it and I mean Brian Goulet is right. Your medium writes like a true medium haha. My medium was like a broad!! So awesome we both have a Visconti now! Haha :D yours also seems to have more feedback than my 23k version. Very cool differences but both are just perfection!

Great video. I will love to see you do a video of the Montblanc 149 VS the Visconti Homo Sapiens. For the viewers from a country where luxury pen are so expensive and can only afford 1 flagship pen. Which do you prefer if you got to choose only one and why. If you already done the video kindly refer me the link. Thank you.

Hey, Craig! Curious, do you still have and love this pen? I just received mine a couple weeks ago - absolutely my grail pen. Your review helped my decision a lot, so thank you! I was a little surprised how thin the medium nib was out of the box. I waited a couple days, then did some tuning, now it's the perfect pen for me. Wondering if you still enjoy yours?

I got to hold it last year at the Dallas Pen show, and really liked the rubbery texture you feel when you hold it. Is there any other pen with the same rubbery texture?

This doesn’t necessarily feel rubbery to me. It’s matte but pleasant!

Be careful using shimmering inks in fountain pens. If you use the pen often, move it around before writing. The movement will spread the shimmer. If the pen sits for awhile, the shimmer will settle and clog the pen. Personally, I use shimmer inks with a glass dip pen. Same results on the page without the clogging of the pen.
@CraigRoccanova Жыл бұрын
Yeah I tend to not use them. This got cleaned out tonight.

You are very lucky that you didn't need to visit a nib master to fix the nib...And filling mechanism is another Bronze Age technology mostly not functioning...but anyway enjoy your pen

I have the HS. It’s not my fav. I would like more Italian pens. The Scribo looks interesting. The HS is a real pest to clean. I made the mistake of disassembling mine and had to send it back. Don’t do that! The m800 you just unscrew the nib. I like a pen that’s easy to clean.
@ironmic9244 Жыл бұрын
The Homo Sapiens also has a nib unit that you unscrew just like the M800. But you are correct that it is still not easy to clean.

@@CraigRoccanova I have the Skylight, so I can still see flecks of water and ink in the barrel. The plunger is also white, so there is a little staining, so for me at least it's a bit more difficult. If I had the standard lava edition I suspect it would not be as difficult for me.

I am not sure but you might try googling it but I don't recommend taking any of these things apart.
@ironmic9244 Жыл бұрын
You can unscrew the nib unit, and shoot water up the barrel with an blunt tip syringe. It is one lovely pen to the touch and write with.
