@@MathersOnTheMap Its true. When I lived in St. Thomas, everything downtown would shut down at 5pm (primarily because that is when all the cruise ships had departed). Why a ship would schedule arrival at 3pm is unusual.

Fun video. You didn't miss anything at the Magen's Bay Beach. I also heard all the Top 10 rankings and all that. I was super pumped and couldn't wait to check out such a serene paradise... Turns out, it was definitely over-rated, crowded, and just seemed to be your typical Caribbean beach.

Next cruise should be virgin or Norwegian! i mentioned we were supposed to go for our eastern Caribbean but due to hurricane we were switched to western. the itinerary would have had us there morning. Plus I think its key to try out a bunch of cruises and see what you like. We want to try virgin and royal. We have done princess, NCL and Disney of course. My favorite is disney but very pricey. I think you would be floored by a Alaska cruise. That was my favorite one we have ever done. Thanks for letting me tag along.

We are definitely interested in an Alaskan cruise when the kids are older and we can hike a bit! We’d also love to try out another cruise line like Royal or Disney with the kids when they are older too but we’ll see! I’m sorry about your cruise being switched, I hope you still had a good time!

@ oh totally. But before you know it you will be cruising Alaska. Idk i love those cold weather rustic locals like alaska, Iceland, and Norway. So looking forward to getting back to either of those places.

We had our honeymoon on St. John, and much preferred it to St. Thomas. It was less crowded and touristy. The following year we were on a cruise that stopped in St. Thomas, we took a boat back to St. John - even though we lost a couple hours of the day getting there and back it was totally worth it to us!

Bummer about the arrival time. I have been there 3x and Megan’s bay is heavenly. I remember having all day there on Royal. From what I heard some of the times is based on how much the cruise line wants to pay to dock and at what time(s). PR was on our stop too and it wasn’t my fave.

Yea we were super bummed but ya live and ya learn right? I’d definitely like to check out Megan’s Bay in the future if we ever go back. It looked really nice down there! That’s interesting about the price thing, I believe it but such a bummer. PR is/was our next stop. Holland America actually nailed that port time and spoiler alert we had the BEST time! 😀 Thanks for watching John!

I don't blame ya'll for being disappointed. St. Thomas is beautiful. I don't remember everything closing down so early. You would think they would accommodate the cruisers, besides they missed out on sales.

We should have. Unfortunately it was late in the day and we figured we’d try to see some stuff instead. The tour was fun, just a bummer everything was closed after. Next time though we’d definitely like to hit the beach!
