Hi Dr. Julie, I'd love to have you on the podcast. Syntonic therapy is not spoken about very much in the nystagmus community and I think a lot of us would be curious to hear more about it. Let me know if you would be interested in chatting. Thanks!

I Live in the UK ans was born with Nystagmus at birth. I did not do well at school because this condition stopped me from reading the Blackboard. And I was not able to Drive because I did not meet the required Eye Sight test for to Drive. So, I have had a terrible Life, my 3 Brothers did not have this condition. I think it was due to me being Forceps Delivery, and I honestly think, that as the skull is soft and fragile at the point of birth, this is why I developed Nystagmus at birth. Is my thinking right?

Hi Vivek, this is not something we can say without knowing more information. If you are being treated by another Doc you may want to get an explanation if what you are experiencing is normal for their patients and treatment approach. If not then they should know what to do to change your experience. Thanks for your question.

How much does a consultation cost? I suffered a blow to the head 6 months ago and now have nystagmus that started right after I hit my head. I have had a cat scan and an MRI, nothing was found. The neurologist suggested I might get prism glasses…I would love to get some help.

Do these things work on congenital horizontal nystagmus? I dont necessarily have strabismus but when I had a vocational assessment when they tried to get me to cross my eyes my left eye crosses but my right eye went off to the right I guess? It’s strange because that has never ever been mentioned to me… I’ve never had an eye doctor tell me that so I don’t know if that’s something new and something I should be concerned about? But anyways… thankfully I’m able to drive maybe not at night for much longer….but I’ve been forced to adapt all my life and thankfully I’ve adapted well I own guns and I go target shooting daily… I also have astigmatism and im cross eye dominant as far as shooting is concerned YAYYYYY ME! 😂 I cant find any firearm instructors who have instructed someone with nystagmus ive been forced to instruct myself and find ways to make the information I find work for me…. I actually brought in my sights and UNLOADED guns in to the eye dr so I could have prescription eye protection but to shoot accurately your eyes need to be focused on your target my eyes move my hands shake…. I’ve even tried to shoot with my head turned at the point where my eyes stop moving and it did help with accuracy but it’s very uncomfortable and people look at you crazy like wtf is she doing? LOL 😂 I’ve asked about surgery ive researched Botox but I like to be able to move my face and thats not something I really want to put my body through for the rest of my life im almost 40yrs old and I’ve never been given any kind of help or advice or any options of possible treatments…. It’s just always been something I had to live with and since I was making it work and I was functioning no one tried to attempt to make things more manageable

Hi there, there is no clear research on retinopathy of prematurity being improved with Syntonics and vt but it improves brain development and vision development overall. Its already a rare occurrence but I have 1 infant I’m working with now of which the ROP may not necessarily improve but her nystagmus is reducing and she has better fixation. She’s about 6 mon.
