Thank you for talking about this. There isn’t enough content about these issues. I had severe deficits in several visual processing skills as a kid, and vision therapy quite literally changed my entire life. More parents need to know about the possibility of visual perception disorders.

I would start by talking about your concerns with you PCP. They can help guide you in the right direction.

This was so interesting! Info I haven't seen elsewhere, thank you. Out of curiosity, are there any other systems that could impact the ability to discern left/right? My husband still struggles with this. Also, I study personality psychology and I suspect that certain personality types are more prone to difficulties with certain sensory systems, just as some personalities are more likely to struggle with e.g. attention or emotional regulation. Have you noticed this at all in your line of work?
