I started taking B1 as suspected I was low at age 60. Would occasionally have heart flutters for no known reason. The very first day I started taking it (100mg) after each meal, my heart flutter disappeared!! It's only been 3 days but have also noticed I have more energy and alertness during the day. I would usually have to take a nap after work but have not had the urge to do so! Dr. Berg is really on to something with sharing this information with us! Thank you!

I was frozen in fear, not getting anything done, and I've a ton of work to do. I'm looking forward to getting my life back on track.... I read the bottle, and it says to take it several times per day.... I'm going for it. I've also a neuropathy in my right foot. Keto has helped that a lot.... but with B1, I'm optimistic about it being history.... gone for good. I am now telling the world about B1.... thanks so much.... Oh, I got a bag of nutritional yeast as well.. and I've been only taking it for 4 days..... remarkable.... a miracle.

Got exertional rhabdomyolysis, badly. Had muscle biopsies, electromyogram, heart monitoring, etc. Not one person questioned my diet or ability to absorb vitamins. Runnersworld experts kept encouraging to use glucose sports drinks, eat pasta, rice etc - carb loading. Now at 59, maybe this is the answer. Something that can cause deficiency is being very very jazzed up, enthusiastic, about something. That can be followed by unpleasant dreams. I've found that B1 supplement does fix that and give a good night's sleep undisturbed by unpleasant dreams that can wake you up feeling upset. I think the title needs to be more clear. This covers so much much more than "High Carb Diet." That has become such an over used buzz word that I almost just passed by. Might want a title that reflects the in-depth issues of B1 deficiency. This has been a great reminder to be faithful to B1 supplements.

@@hazmania4794 My first cat was called tumbleweed because I used to read Zane Gray books when I was a child which often referred to tumbleweed rolling across the planes! I did get to live in Texas for 18 months in the late 60s, those were the days, it was amazing. I currently have a 24-year-old Siamese cat called Figaro who I inherited in 2009 when his beautiful owner died after a flu jab which I had begged her not to have. I think Figaro has reached 24 because he has six organic prawns every day and organic KEFIR as I have never had a cat reach that age before, and he is really fit. I am so lucky. I also rescued a cat someone abandoned in the garden during lockdown in central London and he is called Gucci because he is black and white. I have started adding Apple cider vinegar with the mother, to my vegetable stock with nutritional yeast and curry powder. I steam my vegetables and that is the stock that I use and I always cook double vegetables so that I can reheat the vegetables lightly with garlic and onions in a pan with two poached eggs on top, just break the eggs on top and have a glass lid. It makes a very pretty and delicious, quick healthy meal. I think I may add coconut oil to the drink as I do for my coffee. I wonder if that drink would be okay to have during intermittent fasting or would it break the rules, because I am quite happy doing OMAD and 6/18 at weekends to be a bit more sociable ! Namaste 🙏

I have many of the afflictions you mentioned. I have not gone keto, and likely won't. I've already had huge benefits just from avoiding as much as I can (with small and *rare* exceptions) all sugars, grains, and starches. Several of my strongest ailments (frequent urination, E.D, excess fat, and several others) vanished so fast that it defies belief, except for the fact that it happened. But doctors told me the cause of my vertigo (very rare, but debilitating, until I learned how to function without setting it off) was unknown. I always heard that the cause of my POTS was my low blood pressure. But that's not true. I've had POTS even after my blood pressure became *normal*. But I don't have POTS all the time. It was inexplicable, until now. I need to watch this video again because there's too much information that applies. Thank you Dr Berg.

I didn’t even take Allithiamine ( which is much stronger than thiamine), but I’m definitely getting better!! My gosh! The roller coaster of this past year with PoTS. I've had a few scares while in my sleep from waking up gasping for air to having tightness in my chest. So I'd normally roll to the other side and it kind of helped but I'd still be too scared to sleep (every night). One Moring around 4am I woke up to my whole body frozen cold and my heart shot up to 160ish, according to my heart monitor on my watch I was at 38bpm then stopped recording for 10 minutes. I instantly woke up feeling full of life and highly alert, I was terrified. Other times I've had horrible dreams like somebody near me in my sleep only to wake up and see someone there with a knife and I scream for help to then realize no one was there at all and I'm in full panic mode!. I'd never thought B1 was actually this important until I saw this video, my diet has improved since with your other videos (keto). I sometimes used to drink 6 coffees a day so this is my fault and i've cut down to 2ish. I'll try out a spoonful of nutritional yeast before my sleep and cut back on caffeine. Thankyou for this educational presentation Dr. Berg I'll give this a fair go.

Until I started using supplements by doing my research and got better on my own. They act as if they had never had to deal with patients with naturopathy. You might get a weird stare or a suggestion to see a neurologist for gerbapentin. Which is all the neurologist offered my husband. Gerbapentin or Lyrica. @@siobhanirish1307 The numbness means your nerve is damaged. Eighter from high blood sugar or something else. If it's high blood sugar you need to get that under control first of all. I'm taking B12, a renal vitamin of b vitamins, zinc and a high amount of folic acid and 1200 mg per day of Alpha Linolic acid all of which help feed your nerves so they can recover. I noticed the difference when I added nutritional yeast. I had it handy and just forgot to use it. Until Dr. BERG mentioned it about a week and a half ago. The numbness is totally better. But I have to warn you. I experienced shooting pain like lightning bolts coming out of my feet before it got better. Read some place it's actually a positive effect and to embrace that pain as your nerves are waking up so to speak and work on repairing themselves. I will keep adding b1 in hopes that the numbness will go away completely and then continue with it to prevent future damage. I get monthly bloodwork that's somewhat detailed. If I don't supplement or eat proper it shows. Also are you doing intermittent fasting with your keto? It will also help heal your body. Your body can work on repair instead of digesting food at night. It's amazing how we mention quite common widespread complaints to our doctors and only get weird looks, a shrug or ignored at best. Never an explanation or any suggestions on how to get better. You may walk away with a script to cover up the complaint. Never eliminate the source of the problem to get well. Makes you not want to bother seeking help from one.

I think that a distinction should always be made between whole plant food carbohydrates and refined carbohydrates that mess with your blood sugar. Dr Berg always runs through a list of refined carbohydrates that are damaging but rarely calls them out in a way that distinguishes them from unrefined carbohydrates. Potatoes, brown rice, beans, whole grains do not mess with your blood sugar unless you combine them with sugars.

Fran, they do mess with your sugar very much if you have metabolic syndrom, if not, consider yourself fortunate.

If I walk to my kitchen and back the bottom of my feet felt like pins poking me…. After a couple of day’s taking B1 fat soluble … immediately the pin sensation went away… I also had shoulder pain from a accident for over 17 years and that pain immediately went away also … I can’t speak for nobody else, but it definitely changed my life. 👍
