I love that you don’t hesitate to say “we don’t know” or “you don’t know”. I’ve been sick for almost three years and almost all of the Dr.‘a I’ve seen would stop speaking to or seeing me if I questioned anything. Great info. You remind me of My great rheumatologist rip in TJ, she told me do the anti-inflammatory diet, have sun baths for D3 (I do not have lupus), walk in the grass, sand, soil, water, drink a very big glass of lukewarm water as if you were chewing it, before taking any medication or breakfast, at least half an hour before, everyday. Do water exercises in a pool, during good climate days, learn how to breath, walk and move gently Xi Chong, Tai Chi, go to bed early, so your sleeping hours are 10-2am at least. Told to learn how to cope with stress. To take care of my digestive tract first and foremost aside from my sleep, as 80 percent of ones immune system is in digestive system.

YES! This is extremely important regarding getting the calcium into the bone and not in soft tissue, like arteries. I was so upset that my physicians never advised me to take K2 while advising Vitamin D, IMO that is quasi malpractice! My new rheumatologist didn’t even check my vitamin D level. ( I just moved.) He also to me that I don’t have PMR or RA because the tests don’t show the right levels of inflammation. He also said I’m to young to have PMR. I was fifty when my problems started. I had to tell him to look at what mayo has to say on age. How many people don’t have the right numbers etc. This guy took over for his fathers practice. And apparently isn’t nearly as smart as he think he is. Went to my new primary care doctor. Who tested my vitamin D levels. Counties that test and promote vitamin D levels had the lowest death rate from COVID according to a recent study.

I managed to double my total vitamin d by taking a D3 supplement (started with 5000 and then went down to 2500 IU… still want to increase my level a bit more before I lower my D3 dosage again). My b-12 also still continued to drop even once I was on a GF and DF diet to manage the celiac. I was deficient in b-12 when my hematologist checked it in Dec with my ferritin and saturation. I got an iron infusion and she scheduled 3 b-12 shots, getting the third later this week.

Thank you for your nuanced presentation. I was gobsmacked last year to hear a youtube talk by a cardiologist (Dr. Pradip Jamnadas) who seemed to be giving a talk to a medical crowd that started out with "So we all know that calcium seems to be what's plugging up the arteries..." and I was sitting there saying "Wait a minute what's this WE ALL KNOW???" While acknowledging the importance of Vitamin D, his talk was about the fact that Vitamin K2 is responsible for moving the calcium into the bones instead of into the arteries and he has some good data to argue that point. So when you emphasized "WE ALL KNOW, that to make strong bones you need calcium" I had to laugh. But your talk was more about D3 in immune system health, not calcium and bone health, and it seems like there's more that's not known in how D3 works for that. Please keep us updated!

Good video, but we know more than you say. For example, it's informative that the Masai, who live a traditional hunger-gather lifestyle outdoors have an average Vit D level of 47 ng/ml. And there are studies which show how much Vitamin D supplementation is needed to reach levels like that, taking into account each individual's body-mass index (BMI) (low BMI people need less supplementation than high BMI people). All of that info is available in on-line papers published in peer-reviewed journals. Search for "Traditionally living populations in East Africa have a mean serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentration of 115 nmol/l" "The Importance of Body Weight for the Dose Response Relationship of Oral Vitamin D Supplementation and Serum 25-Hydroxyvitamin D in Healthy Volunteers" Also Vitamin k2 is probably a good idea if you supplement with Vitamin D to avoid all the calcium that is absorbed going to the wrong place. How much Vitamin D do you supplement with?

Add the fact she used C. 19. injections and everyone who researches knows there is a 5 - 30 testing protocol for short and longitudinal studies examining side effects and all other factors including gender, height and weight. I knew this as a clinical Social Worker studying with PHd Nurses and Resident MD's for the final year of my Masters. If I know this there should not be an MD in N. America who would 'jab' (because it is not a vaccine) anyone for a condition with a 99.998% recovery rate. Disgusted. They've been calling me for 2.5 years to go in and hell will freeze over before I see any MD who used the jab!

If you have an autoimmune disease wouldn’t Vitamin-D strengthen your immune system, and hasten a worsening of your symptoms?
@Vixinaful9 ай бұрын
No because when deficient, the immune system malfunctions and attacks wrong, with healthy levels, it doesnt.

What a coincidence that this video was just uploaded. I had low vitamin d and ro correcntlt this I took 3K IU a day for two months. I somehow ended up with near toxic levels but no studies I've looked at showed participants achieving those D levels at this dose. All the studies I looked at had people take closer to 40-50K IU a day for many months or years to achieve this. Big conundrum, but my PCP seems to think it's possible for it to happen. Personally, im skepitcal. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I would appreciate it.

Was the test re done? As an RN of 30 years I have seen lab results that were not correct often.

Doctor, do not take diagnosis as if it were written in stone, I personally have thyroid issues, was diagnosed years a go with Fibromyalgia and giant cell enteritis/polymialgia but did not take literally, took the mind over matter, healthy lifestyle, as does meds are to hard on ones system, and as I have from very young stomach issues, colitis, bronchi issues, later migraines, cramps, goldbladder, etc chose not to. And have being doing good for 20 years. I saw how meds started complicating things for my aunt with RA. And I read the small print. Keep the faith and take the alternative healthy living root, but keep yourself checked and non opioid painkillers at bay just if you really have too, natural sleeping pills with valerian root and or melatonin are good. Cold or hot therapy too. Lots of water.

It only took me 11 months to get a referral to a rheumatologist even though my antibodies are attacking my platelets. None of you on KZbin answer any questions

I have RA and Sjogrens. Vitamin D really helped my overall health. I still require medications, but overall I noticed a remarkable difference after I started vitamin D. I will definitely take it after a nice dinner and will report any difference.

Hi, I am presently taking 4000 iu of Vit D (following advice of doctor) however, while I feel a little better, I still don't see a vast improvement. Everything I have read and listened to says it's hard to become toxic. As you say, rheumatologist etc al don't know enough about Vit D so I want to up myself to 5000. As a side note, I 'apparently' have Fatty Liver Disease.

YOU have to take way more. 10,000 a day or 50,0-00 IU a week in one pill plus the 4,000 IU a day.

@@whateverwhatever6496 I was actually put on a course of Vit D tablets at 50,000/week for 6 weeks. I never felt better in my life!!! I was just about running up the stairs. And now, I struggle to walk and turn over in my bed! According to my son, I am shouting out in pain!

@@deborahrea7375 Your comment is so interesting to me. I can't understand my recent energy surge. I eat exactly the same things and amount too. Maybe it's my updosage on Vit. D3 also. I was taking 2000 iu per day and went up another 5000 iu per day. Every once in a while I'll skip a day as I think it may be a little much. Who knows... Just know I feel good and energetic.

Not much news here. You need vit D but we don’t know for sure how much and our latest data is from the 1990s.
