As I own 718 Cayman T myself I need to ask: does the acceleration feel significantly better? What would be 0-62mph time difference? Or maybe even 0-124mph? No real numbers needed just curious about the feeeeeeliiing.... haha! :-) Great video by the way!!!

Unfortunately, we didn't get the chance to record any 0-60 data. The acceleration is incredible after the tune though. More importantly the throttle response is much more snappy which feels amazing when going wide open throttle.

I saw other tuners had managed to flatten out the massive dip in the middle of the range (Apparently the ECU is pulling power for some reason so they had to account for it). Is that something you are able to account for?
@TheNorville27 ай бұрын
It depends where you are, most cars are manual in the UK
@simonbussey75303 жыл бұрын
The power dip just after 5k is not ideal. I'm guessing that's a hardware restriction from the way the turbo delivers it's power and becomes more obvious when the boost is turned up?
@vivid_racing3 жыл бұрын
The dip is occurring because the charge temps are increasing at that RPM due to it being over 105ºF in the dyno room. The car is pulling timing back when it sees a charge temp that high. Upgrading the cooling system would eliminate this all together.
@1michaelricci3 жыл бұрын
What cooking system upgrades are you referring to? Are they available aftermarket?
@JakobusVdL2 жыл бұрын
@@vivid_racing, do I understand correctly that the dip is due to the capacity of the intercooler? If so, does that mean that the output after the dip is also being held back by high charge temps? It would be interesting to see what results you'd get with cooler ambient temps, or a bigger/better intercooler.

Great vid! Thanks so much for the great info. I have a ‘20 GT4 and love the new T, so sweet to be able to get so much power out of just a tune, that’s the practicality of a turbo compared to my flat-6. All 3 of my kids are under 22. All drive manuals, daughter included. On that dip in power, this looks like the knock strategy to me. This is obviously something that needs to be corrected as part of this performance upgrade. If it's charge temps at the upper limit of the turbo why doesn't it fall over there? Could it be a fuel rail resonance at that rpm causing a pressure problem and temporarily leaning out the mix. I'd like to see if anyone has spent some time looking closer at this issue.

The manual is standard on all the 718’s, including the Base 718 Cayman that’s starts $10,000 below the “T”. As you know the most track focused Cayman is the GT4. The GTS is better equipped than a T and has the flat six cylinder engine. The of course the prices for the GTS and GT4 are much higher. $74k; $90knfor GTS and $100k
@rembo1833 жыл бұрын
The best choice for street and track use is the GTS Cayman. It’s got all the performance parts of the GT4 and the T plus a six cylinder and it’s at least $10k less than GT4.

@@vivid_racing may I ask then why Porsche does not do it right away if they can sell a car with 50 BHP more than the current tune? They could maybe gain some market shares since people may step back from that model because they find it too low in HP vs other cars with similar price tag and being more powerful.
