Vizio TV Won't Turn On - How to Measure Standby Voltages for Black Screen & No Power

Hey buddy. How similar is the parts on a vizio tv. I have a 55inch vizio that has sound but no picture. Then i have a 40 inch that has a cracked screen. Can i use the backlight board thing from the 40 to 52

What if you are getting no volts before and after replacing the power supply board? Should I replace the other power supply boards or should I replace the main board? This is on a M75-C1 and when I plug it in the standby light comes on but then slowly dims off.

Did you ever figure this out? I have a M656 65" Vizio doing the exact same thing. Power on with remote or button, standby light comes on for about 4-5 seconds then dims and goes out TV never comes on. I did this standby voltage test and have intermittent standby voltage of 5VDC but sometimes it reads zero with or without the cable to the main board disconnected. I think it must be the power supply board?

I received a replacement power board for my vizio today. Unfortunately, it also exhibits zero voltage at the standby/5 V pin just like the one that appeared to be defective. Some of the other voltages are live [12v pins at 19v] but the 5 V is dead. Do you agree with my assessment that you sent me a bad board? The symptoms of the dead TV seemed to be a classic power board failure. No picture when turned on no sound. No lights at all lighting up on the TV & the standby light is dead. I followed your board testing procedure for Vizio TVs and found that the 5 V standby, or what appears to be the standby, was dead on the original board.

I have the exact same problem with the same voltage readings; I ordered a new power supply board and still have 0V on the standby pin! So frustrating! If anyone has a clue oe a tip, feel free to share it!

i got a vizio p702-uib3 kid sprayed windex on bottom of screen now theres about a 4'' line down the middle what you think would fix it?

My Vizio E4201-BO turns on for a second, quick logo, then goes dark. Light on lower corner is lit. Did flashlight test but didn't see anything and no sound. Not sure if it power supply or main board. There doesn't seem to be a t-com board. Any suggestions ? Thx

I have a problem with a sharp 32"LCD TV model LC-32LE451U that has no power led coming on but the main board has a burnt ic that I can't recognise the number printed on it but near the ic it's label UP21 and the number printed on the board is 3632-2622-0150 (1B) can you help me out here please

My Toshiba 55G310U won't power on, it has 5Vdc but no 12Vdc on the main board. I can't find a repair manual to show me which fuses and regulators to look at Can you advise?

I've swapped out my power board. I only have 1.4 volts on each standby wire. TV still will not power on. Any idea what to do next if low voltage found on standby wires? Is the new power board I just installed defective?

update: getting 5 volts when main board is unplugged. assuming I now need to replace that?

My Samsung says it’s supposed to have 7.5 volts standby but is only getting 5. Could this create a no power issue? What would cause the standby power to be above 0 but not at the listed level of 7.5?

What if the tv turns on just fine after being plugged in for about 45 minutes, but will not turn on immediately after being unplugged and replugged, or after a power outage?

I had no standby light had 5 volts coming out the standby pin on the power board and I replaced the main board and still no power or standby light

Not really TV 'repair' but replacement of one or either major components. Could be one bad cap that's the cause.

Unfortunately that's how we do repairs today. It's all boards and they are relatively inexpensive to replace if you use salvaged new parts from damaged TV's

What if instead of getting 5 volts you get 10 volts? I am getting 2x more than it is suppose to get

@@MichaelFemia Just disconnect all the connectors to the motherboard, TCon etc. Just plug the power cord. Then measure again, if you still get 10.4 V on the stby, then the power supply board is still the problem.

I have a Vizio and get NO image display. I have sound and the backlight works, but just no display. T.V. worked one moment and stopped the next and I mean that LITERALLY. It was working as it always had when I left the room and when I returned, the image was gone. There were absolutely no signs of this coming. It just... "happened" and here I type. Upon removing the back of the T.V. and checking voltages I realized I get NO 5V STANDBY! AC or DC I get nothing on my meter. That has to be the culprit, right? I'm getting a new power supply board as I write this so, if you read this in a few minutes or a few months you don't have to worry about leaving me waiting for a response. I'm just more curious as to what component might be responsible for this, such as voltage regulators.
