Different size zip lock baggies work real well for keeping track of hardware. Thanks for this video series, just developed a rod knock on my NV3500, these videos are giving me the confidence to undertake this task, Thanks

Hey, I hope it goes well! Yours will likely be VVT so it will be a little different but overall they will be very similar.

Man you are a life saver. Making my Vk frontier build so much easier ❤️

That's awesome man I'm glad I'm helping. Are you tearing one out of a Titan? Or did you get on that's already out and ready to install into the frontier?

@@Rythecarguy I sold my built xterra and bought a Titan and frontier. I’m doing everything including rear axle spindles and brakes

Lots of progress, very productive session. I find it extremely interesting. Hope your Thanksgiving meal was awesome.

Thanks I'm pumped. Thanksgiving was great and I hope yours was as well. Already back in FL and ready to pull this motor. I wish I hadn't said I was going to pull the motor on the 4th video lol. Ran into a bunch of stuff I want to cover in the video. Number 4 is going to be 45 minutes easy. 😬

@@Rythecarguy Damn, Florida to Michigan for a weekend! Good on ya. My Thanksgiving was in October, live north of the border. Looking forward to the next installment.

Just found a 2010 Crew Cab. Looks like I'll be shopping for a junkyard engine and doing the RandR in the next few months.

I've enjoyed this series as I've always been interested in doing a VK swap in my 2012 Xterra one day. You may have mentioned why you're pulling/rebuilding the VK but I couldn't remember?
@Rythecarguy3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I'm glad you're liking it! VK swap is on my list of dream projects. I'm mostly doing this series it for fun/content. The engine runs great but it has over 215k on it and I want to trust it for towing and taking long trips. I just can't trust it with that many miles unless I go through it.

I would replace that radiator with an aftermarket Mishimoto radiator. Nissan's OEM relating to the Titan, Xterra and Frontier radiators have been known to fail which will result in radiator fluid going into your transmission.
@Rythecarguy Жыл бұрын
I did bypass the cooler in the radiator but I'm with you on that.

Hi Ry. Can I just cut those oil pressure/temp sender wires? Looks like they would just pull through all those pullies and stuff easily without the connectors on them. Then splice them back together later? Dunno Just asking. Thanks.
@Rythecarguy Жыл бұрын
You could, you would just want to be strategic about where you cut them and what you use to connect them back up. Needs to be waterproof .

I'm going to search for ry brake bleed and brake pads replacement for xterra 2005 se I have a feeling it's out there somewhere

what is a vk and why are you replacing it?
@Rythecarguy3 жыл бұрын
The VK56 is the designation of the engine from the Nissan Titan. I'm taking it out to rebuild it.
