Funny enough, the thing I both like the most and the least about this controller is the new stick design. On the one hand, the modules are genuinely quite innovative in their design, and FlyDigi deserves kudos for coming up with such a clever stick module. That said, I can't help but worry that the abundance of plastic materials in these modules, particularly in the tension mechanism, may make these liable to break. I have seen at least a couple of posts on reddit about parts in these sticks breaking or cracking, and I can't help but think that FlyDigi needs to use sturdier, more flexible materials that are more resistant to mechanical stress if they want to continue with this stick module design.

Holy shit those sticks! Finally hall effect sticks that can brag about not having drift for real. With this new re-centering system, and the mini ball bearings, in theory, there shouldn't be any sort of drift caused by grinding of the materials in the future. No grinding on the sensors, no grinding on the axis, only grinding on the base in contact with the spring, but it will level itself out. And the extra tension you get on the sticks is perfect for those extended distance sticks.

Certainly the circularity test does not indicate whether the analogue is good or not. Flydigi wouldn't leave an 8-10% margin of error on such a revolutionary analog in main line of controllers (Vader and Direwolf are secondary). Many of us can't use gamepads, because they suck in terms of gaming compared to a keyboard and mouse. Now, having the wasd / arrow keys with analog feeling and not just digital on/off click, it will simply unlockk full potential for gaming like racing or others where you need a range not just click to activate.

I don't get it, you said gamepads suck in terms of gaming compared to a keyboard and mouse, but KB+M somehow lacking full potential for gaming like racing? This is exactly why you need gamepad or steering wheel or other appropriate device. Keyboards are standardized for digital clicks and typing, implementing analog WASD or the entire set is ridiculous from both mechanical and software side. The closest thing you can probably get is a handheld with keyboard and analog sticks/triggers, just like nobody wants a steering wheel or fighting arcade stick with built-in keyboard.

that's good to hear, I guess having a charging dock should make it a non-issue too. also, I love the use of keyboard lube on the buttons, I've been doing it with all my controllers for a while now too, it especially helped the 8bitdo neo geo clicky stick feel much nicer. my dream feature would be if controllers started having hotswap switches like keyboards too. Are the face button switches here standard mouse switches and are the dpad switches the same height too? I am not the biggest fan of loud clicky buttons, it would be interesting to try mod the kailh silent mouse switches into the apex or vader.

they are indeed mouse switches but they're SMD switches like this one pt.aliexpress.com/item/32976422040.html@@caretnose

I love this controller! Definitely worth the wait since and good decision for skipping Apex 3. I only wish they add more support to their adaptive triggers in the flystation when used for PC Gaming. Or atleast teach us how to make a configuration for a game that is not listed

I would but I'm just not sure how I would precisely measure gyro movements
