My Dad introduced me to the 1987 movie "Predator" years ago, and to this day, it's my favorite action movie. It's a classic. Bill Duke's performance as "Mac" was excellent. Although Billy sensed the Predator, Mac was the first soldier on Dutch's team to see the Predator, and live to tell what he saw. When Mac picked up Blain's minigun (Ol' Painless) and fired away, he shot off 200 rounds in the minigun! Nothing. Mac was right when he explained that nothing on earth could have lived. Not at that range. The Predator was not of this Earth. Thanks for sharing. Well done Mr. Duke.

@whatisbestinlife81126 жыл бұрын
Bill Duke is a big reason of what makes the Predator so intimidating in the first film. Watching his devolution from supremely confident military operator to scared and approaching mentally broken soldier really emphasized how fearsome the creature is. His performance is the emotional heart of the film, imo. The rest is all primarily action and tension. Great action and tension, absolutely. Some of the best every crafted. But Bill Duke's performance is a huge reason we really care for the characters, and why the Predator possesses such a powerful presence and impact.

A genre that he basically helped create. At his height. If you asked the average person. Who is the most popular actor on the planet, It would have been Arnold. Johnson although popular. Is not 1/2 as popular as Arnold was. No one says Johnson is the top actor. He isnt even considered the top in action films. Arnold was one of those people who reached the highest peak of fame. A status beyond famous. Hell. Arnolds one liners alone became part of American Culture.

They're very much the same if u ask me and I might dare say johnson is a better actor. Arnold was iconic because he's arnold, not because he was a stellar actor. He was always typecast as the big musclehead main character. His other roles where he was supposed to be funny, those movies did well at box office because it's arnold, but they are all forgotten now and ppl only remember his big action roles. Johnson is actually decent at being a funny guy, and he's VERY good at being the big musclehead. Johnson's a bit of a chameleon on screen, I'd like to see him do romance with zero action and see how well he could perform such a role. Arnold, we just want to see him play the big guy with a gun. He doesn't make you want anything more than that from him.

Johnson also does much better physical fight scenes than any fight scene I have ever seen arnold do. I'm here to deliver my talent. All successful men of color can completely relate to that.

Any man regardless of color should have that approach. It was definitely a gem of knowledge that he dropped there and made an ignorant fuck respect his presence with a simple sentence that was so complex it should have been used when Bobby Fischer played chess

@@irishtyrant4532 I agree, it is good advice for all, but seriously - people of color get much more scrutiny and judgment. Yes, ignorant people of all races make those assumptions about all people, but those of us who are successful, (but not white), interact with more people for business (more chances to be judged) and do things at higher levels (more "do you belong here" questions) so we experience it more.

Predator 2 with Danny Glover was so underrated. Not as good as 1 but still dope. Predator vs Alien was good but after that the Predator and Alien movies sucked
@SutekhDaSteemroller6 жыл бұрын
AVP 1 and 2 were wild corny. Predators was garbage and so was the new flick. Predator 2 with the backdrop of crack era L.A. worked and that movie can stand on its own as a good flick. Predator 1 is ATG stuff.

Nah, I disagree. I like Arnold as much as the next guy but i’d take Gridiron Gang or San Andreas anyday over Running Man or Hercules in NY which are proof that not all his films were great. Especially in the early days. Same goes for Sly & the Rock. But every actor has a few clunkers now and then.
