Part 4: • Sammy the Bull on How ...
Part 2: • Sammy the Bull on How ...
Part 1: • Sammy the Bull on How ...
--------
After leaving the witness protection program and relocating to Arizona, Sammy "The Bull" Gravano made headlines thanks to a high profile interview with Diane Sawyer. The interview was a part of his book launch, a decision he admits was spurred on by ABC producers he had become friendly with. Though there was a hefty bounty on his head due to his cooperation against the Gambino crime family, Gravano says nothing negative happened right away after the interview. A hit team did eventually track him down, but were unable to make their move as he had relocated to a Mexican neighborhood he says was optimal for protection. Exposure to the neighborhood community resulted in the local gang leader offering Gravano a form of protection. Gravano claims that he was well-prepared with weapons in every room of his house ahead of his eventual arrest on drug charges.

If he puts away enough other mobsters it makes sense for the prosecution. It's sort of a miracle that he left witness protection yet managed to avoid being killed by the mob.

*"I’m not sure why people always try to find flaws."* lotta mob snitches and former hatchetmen are full of crap. even Sammy says so about a few of em. talking with vlad in i think this same interview session he calls out hitman Iceman Kuklinksi for being full of it. it's better to be cynical and assume it's crap until you can at least somewhat say "i can't say he's lying, and at least if he's a liar, he's a consistent one." honestly this doesn't just apply here, lots of people are full of crap, and it's better to at least assume that at first so you expect it and know what to look for, than to trust them at face value blindly and get screwed because you were asleep at the wheel and just took it on faith. i would assume a guy like Sammy would agree, since if he wasn't the suspicious type he likely wouldn't still be breathing, considering his line of work.

It's unfortunate that Sammy fell back into old habits when he was in Witness Protection and then lost almost another 20 years of his life to prison due to the ecstacy conviction. He could have put out another book or whatever to make more money. I know KZbin wasn't around back then. Whatever stipend he was living on probably wasn't enough for him after what he was used to. I am surprised he is alive and well after everything he's been through and I read he had some health condition back like 10-15 years ago that he obviously overcame. This is nuts this guy can own and carry guns after killing 19 people and did less than 10 years ,but my friend can't own a shotgun to go anymore because of a metal hospital stay after going through a rough patch when his mom passed is nuts ,our government shouldn't be allowed to coerce witnesses to testify that's actually against the law, and you have to say you wasn't coerced when you're receiving sentence so that's just a big old show our government is so scandalous.

Grew up in Connecticut and would go to New York Brooklyn And Queens And Bronx And Manhattan all the time in 80s and 90s. Would see John Gotti with his entourage in clubs in Manhattan. Never saw Sammy. Heard everything from many people who lived in the city. DeMeo Crew was most terrifying and completely feared by even most feared mobsters. Sammy was know to be real thing until he became the king rat 🐀 and now he has been exposed by Capo Mikey Scars and made men as close as anyone in the life for telling so many tall tales. Only fake depiction of the life Sopranos watching fan boys and girls and internet warriors who will never be about anything still love Sammy.
