Living with abuse gets weird. My grandmother was married to my grandfather for 62 years, from when she was 18 until he died. He was a horrible person who was negative and abusive with everyone. Now she will talk about how horrible he was, only to start talking about how much she misses him. People just adapt to any given situation in order to survive, they focus on their goals and the positive stuff and somehow get through the bad stuff. You got out of a bad situation, things will be better now, but thinking about how it was living with abuse will probably always be weird in a way.
