always looks brown/dark in keg, just brewed a red ale and looks brown but on transfer has a lovely red shine in the tube

How about dropping a different strain of Kveik? You could raise the temps back up and get it cranking (If the US-05 fails)...Also, I've never had Nottingham fail me...I swear, Notty could ferment a truck if you put them together in an FV.
