Thanks! We enjoyed your video! You said the product name right ;-) Cicaplast is great for dry irritated skin, and it's a multi-purpose balm so you can use it on pretty much anything like even on diaper rash as it's safe to use for babies as young as 1 week old. We recommend Cicaplast for cancer patients who are going through chemotherapy as it can wreak havoc on the skin. We noticed that you use Anthelios XL which isn't available in the US... Have you tried the US version Anthelios sunscreen? What other LRP products have you used? xoxo

I used Cicaplast after Duac Gel. Applied Duac Gel over night, washed it in the morning and used Cicaplast as a moisturiser (together with SPF), but mainly I used it to heal the acnee scars :D My cousin used Cicaplast after the C- Section, LOL. Amazing product 🥰
@Isabelle-xg2oy5 жыл бұрын
In fact LPR Cicaplast Baume B5 also includes shea butter inside. This white colour is because of healing zinc salts content. The key for lpr is to use as little as possible. I’ve got oily skin and this is one of few moisturisers which doesn’t leave my skin oily in the morning, after been used at night.

Thank you for your vidéo. I must admit that if I think "cicaplast", I think "helping scrarred skin heal faster" rather than simple moisturizer as a lot of surgeons and dermatologists in Belgium prescribe Cicaplast Cream or gel for that purpose, hence the stickiness. Have a nice day.

I have oily skin and have been using the La Roche Posay Cicaplast as my daily moisturizer for about 6 months now since it was recommended by my dermatologist and it's working great for me 🙂. It's also not too expensive here in Europe, around 6 euros (7 usd) for a 40 ml tube

I really like using the La Roche Posay Cicaplast handcream on my face. It has niacinamide 4% and glycerine 30% and it never broke me out as opposed to other moisturizers. For those looking for a cheaper alternative to the LRP Cicaplast in Europe , I recommend the Cica repair balm by MIXA. It’s very similar in texture, very soothing with 5% Panthenol and no fragrance. And only half the price. And you guessed correctly, it does not apply very well on wet skin, so I don’t really use it as moisturizer, but it’s great on the lips, undereyes, for a sore nose or as a ‚in between washings‘ treatment for dry patches of skin. I also use it as hand creme occasionally. It’s a great product and very reasonably priced.

It occurred to me that could be why the peeling has stopped and would be just my luck lol The ingredients are Yellow Soft Paraffin BP; Liquid Paraffin Ph. Eur. Cetomacrogol Emulsifying Wax BP (contains Cetostearyl Alcohol and Macrogol Cetostearyl Ether 22), Chlorocresol; Glycerine;Purified Water EP

In Europe we also have Cicaplast Baume with added chemical SPF 50 (Homosalate, Octocrylene, Avobenzone, Tinosorb S, Uvinul T 150, Ensulizole, Mexoryl XL). The main plus is that it's very affordable (£5.62 per 40ml), but the minuses are that it feels heavy, it has a very shiny finish (not a white cast, but greasy/wet luminosity), and it's not water resistant (so might move around, get into eyes etc). So yeah, not the best LRP sunscreen out there.

Dr. Dray, thank you for all your super informative videos. I couldn´t help noticing all the packaging used for vegetables in America. Here in Austria, the trend is to take along netted fabric bags to purchase vegetables, avoiding as much wrapping as possible. Although we have four types of carbage - Paper, plastic, compost, and other waste, it is collected once a month. We have now started to take our own tubs, and glass containers to fill at supermarkets. Avoiding plastic, and unnecessary waste not only helps the environment but not having to deal with so much waste makes life so much easier too. Best wishes from Austria.....

Hi dr Dray. I think cicaplast balm and Flawless serve a bit different purpose. In Europe Cicaplast is used more as a remedy for irritated skin, super dry skin, cuts and burns etc. So it is more like emergency skin care but not an every night moisturiser. There's also a gel version, lip and hand versions, all fantastic. You are completely right in that it does not go over any serums or hyluronic acid. Also it is impossible to spread over wet skin as per your method. You have to dry the skin at least a bit before. This is the only problem I have with it, otherwise it is fantastic. Love the Starbucks Been There collection. Have some at home from my favourite places. Have a great evening!

The lrp is more of an ointment. For healing. Yes it has moisturizer in it, but its not just moisturizer. (Coming from a makeup artist and skin care specialist who sells this product)

💡When you repurposed your Olly Plant Powered Protein container try using Rustoleum spray paint for plastic & acrylic. I have repurposed a lot of things. I have made a lot of really cool office supplies with used containers. When I watch your videos, I feel like I am hanging out with a friend. Thank you for your channel. It’s really wonderful to see an personable and intelligent woman on KZbin.

I see u use EltaMD for sunscreen. I just ordered a bunch of sunscreen from a Japanese sight, like Biore and Shiseido and I hope it works out. I desperately need sunscreen for my type 0 skin, but the smell and thick EU sunscreens are a bit a hassle for me. What do you think of those gel based sunscreens? Would you need to reapply more often?

Can you please do a review on the Bioderma Sebium Mat Control moisturizer? I’ve heard it’s amazing for oily skin and wearing under makeup but I want to make sure the ingredients are decent. :) and thanks for yet another entertaining vlog!

Dear Dr Dray: What do you think about using repairing creams like LPR baume b5 or Avene Cicalfate with surfactans and zinc on the daily basis? Can we use it daily? Or they are going to speed up cell turning process that much to cause keratin overbuiling, more pore clogging and in a long distance more problems than advantages? Warm greetings from Poland 🇵🇱😘

I have a sunblock question. I use the CeraVe 50 spf facial sunblock typically, but ordered the CeraVe spf 50 body lotion by mistake. Is this safe to use on my face? I typically have pretty sensitive skin as far as breakouts, but CeraVe products seem to work well for me. I love your channel btw!

Off Topic: I have an 89 year old buddy. She has more on the ball than I do, and looks no where near her age. She is a retired nurse, who DECADES ago, while on a dermatology rotation asked the Professor the secret to great skin. Apparently it is a mask of egg white, powdered milk and.....camphor oil... THOUGHTS? BTW: Cauliflower in the air fryer, what do you think?

Camphor oil sounds like a major irritant.

I love CF in the AF. Camphor is very irritating and responsible for chelitis related to lip balms. It is a rosacea foe

Dr. Dray, you discussed hand care and anti-aging treatments such as exfoliating. I have very dry hands in the winter. I wear gloves for household chores. Is there a hand cream you could recommend, especially to use at night? I have sensitive skin, too, so no fragrance as you recommend.

I thought it was neat to see you like to use a Fine 0.7mm pen. I am obsessed with 1.6 mm pens. I like they way they write, super smooth and it feels like they glide over the paper nicely. I write constantly so I had to be happy with a style. :)

I would highly, highly, recommend trying LPR Baume B5 for facial eczema. Although it is a moisturiser I use it more as a soothing and healing Baume. I’m a long term chronic eczema sufferer and it’s SO good. It is sticky when you first apply it and you will look like a mime artist for a while (🤪) but it does absorb... I use it nightly around my mouth where I suffer the most and on my knuckles. If I’m “under attack” I use it frequently throughout the day to calm inflammation, smooth my skin and get it back under control.

Dr. Dray I’d be very curious on your thoughts with a’pieu’s madecassoside line! Fragrance free and I’ve gotten on extremely well with the gel moisturizer(I have dehydrated skin that reacts to many ingredients) It’s also really affordable through YesStyle. 👍🏼I used a whole tub of a’pieu’s madecassoside gel then went back to Hado Labo Plumping Gel Cream just because I knew I already loved it and wanted a switch up. Just wanted to bring some attention to the line since I dont see it around much!

Dr Dray I wanted to ask if there are any long term effects of COPPER GLUCONATE since that's an ingredient in LRP's cicaplast. I've been using it to help soothe my peeling effect from tretinoin and it has been a life saver. I was just wondering if there were long term effects of that ingredient in that cream?

That La Roche Posay product, I really can’t say is life changing. I want to like it, I really do. But it does not sit well on skin, I feel there are much better products for much cheaper such as cerave cream. Similar ingredients , and does a better job. But well done on another excellent video Dr Dray, I am so lucky and grateful to be subscribed to you 😍😍😍💖💖💖

The ingredients are nothing the same and Cicaplast Baume is not a moisturizer, it’s a treatment. Along centella and panthenol, it has a large amount of zinc which, while great for calming down irritation and help with scaring, can be a bit drying for some.
@DrDrayzday5 жыл бұрын
yeah it is pretty occlusive and tacky...i think it fares better on the body, but too expensive
@DrDrayzday5 жыл бұрын
it is not an approved as a "treatment" for anything, so most of that is claims supported minimally by some small studies...as it stands, it is a moisturizer until proven other wise
