I just turned 60. I would say that you should always try new things. Consistently trying something you’ve never done keeps you young and excited about life. Also, with each decade you appreciate more of the little things. You sift out all the things that are truly not important.
@dianaburton70422 жыл бұрын
Teresa, I so agree. I'll be 60 this year and it is truly accurate that age brings so much wisdom and I think about my 30 year old self & how much my perspective has changed. I have adult boys that I am so proud of, but sure miss those little days! One of the reasons I love watching Jessica's videos is seeing a young family growing.

I'm sixty two and so agree. My baby turns 40 tommorow! I can sit back and remember every moment that brought me pure joy! I look back at my younger self and high five the determined, strong and resilient woman I became and still am! I've been a US Army Soldier, wife, mother, caregiver, college student and am the sole person left in my immediate family. All the years I thought sixty was old and I'd never be there makes me laugh now! I love being my age. The things I've learned throughout my journey is what others deem Wisdom! For all afraid of aging... don't be! I love having grown into my skin and even though I may have some aches...I wouldn't give up a single moment! Happy 2022 everyone...it can only get better!

I was walking back to my car- in the school hallway- after dropping my oldest off for preschool. A Mom walking past me stuck out her bottom lip when she saw me CRYING…I was BLUBBERING…and she hugged and told me, “it gets better, Mama”. I’ve never forgotten her. I’m VERY aware I’m living the very best season ever. I look forward to retirement with my husband, but I also KNOW I am living the “good old days” right this instant. I’m 37 and have been with my husband since high school…I could go on a whole tangent… I have four kids 12, 8, 4 and 3…my life is chaos and stressful, but I am able to remind myself that someday I will miss this noise. Regardless of my stress and annoyance, I’m completely aware that someday I will sit in the quiet, or even semi-quiet when the two older boys are gone, and I will absolutely yearn for the chaos of these days. I love watching you “prepare” for your sweet baby! ❤️

I have been thinking about seasons of life lately, too. I’m 47 and I have a 16 year old and a 13 year old. I recently took on a huge project of going through all of our photos to add the best of the best to a new digital picture frame. It was so sweet to walk down memory lane and look at pictures of my kids at every age and stage. I do ‘t know where the freaking time has gone, but I do remember when those swaddles and sleep sacks were EVERYTHING!😊

Regarding seasons…I am 44 and have older teens. I am having a mini-Renaissance. My kids need my time a bit less (though my focus more) and I am able to try or re-try things (hello tap dancing!). I feel much more settled in my adulthood. I care less about the opinions of others and have healthier boundaries. When your kids are lil is precious…but teens are also freakin awesome. And YES TO LAUNDRY! Blessings!

I’ve been thinking about life seasons lately too! I have a 15 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. Their wide age gap puts me in two completely different seasons all the time. I feel like I’ve lost touch with actual reality for the last 5 years. It’s nuts! But now that our little is more self sufficient, I feel so ready to embrace ME again this year! I set goals and my biggest one is to allow myself to be selfish, take me time. I don’t have to suffer through and just roll through the motions anymore. My kids survived this long, I think they’ll be okay without me for a little time here and there.

I can't take the smell of goo gone. If you are sensitive to strong smells, try saturating the stickers in hand sanitizer. Put some on a paper towel and hold or tape it in place for a bit. It doesn't work quite as easily as goo gone, but it does work without the smell.

The best piece of advice I ever got came from a family counselor when my kids were in their late teens, and it is that you cannot control other people. It may seem obvious, but when your kids are moving into young adulthood, it can be difficult to let go of control. She said that I should focus on my own actions and reactions, and be in control of myself. I have applied this advice to 9ther relationships, and I am a much better and happier person.

Both of you will enjoy your time together more. Only bad side is the germs. They will catch everything first year of pre-k or kinder but better to get it over with. My daughter came home after her first day and I asked her what she learned today she said "We learned all about germs and oh yeah also that boogers are germs." Poor prek teachers. :)

By the time I was 30, I had been married for 13 years, had 3 children, and had lost one of the babies and my husband. I am now 59 and have grandchildren. I feel like I am entering the winter of my life. It may be long or it may be brief, but I have worked all of my life to enjoy this season. I have to say, I didn't always take time to smell the roses along the way. Life can be hard and some seasons are better than others, just try and take it all in while you are living it.

Yes you will have new memories. And what I did was I took my babies clothes after my last one. I made a quilt out of the clothes and made a memory blanket my daughter sleeps with every night

I’m in the early high school, & just before middle school, season of life. Plus, we moved right after everything hit the fan, in May 2020…so maneuvering a year of distance learning and now navigating how to “let them” socialize and make friends, while also being as cautious as we can.. I’ll tell ya… it’s a trip. Luckily, both of them are old enough to be vaccinated so treading our way carefully through it all.

Ten years ago I would daydream of the life I have now crazy to think back to that. I am a first-year preschool teacher, a new homeowner, and a mom of a one-year-old. I have navigated through all the first times of life in a pandemic that's also crazy to think. I love your vlogs I've been watching since GIGI was in your belly.

10 years ago I was 17 years old and in my last year of high school (this time of year) and started University in September. I was in a miserable relationship and a lot of my "friends" were actually not that nice or supportive. Honestly, I am basically the same person at my core, but I have become so strong and much better and standing up for myself. I have recently gotten into my second relationship and he is a wonderful man who is so much better suited for me. I also have a much better group of friends who are truly supportive and care about me ❤️❤️

My son is 15 months old, and we always planned on having 2 kids, but my post partum has been such a dark period of my life (on meds and on the mend) and all these health problems have come up from having my son so now we won’t be having a second child. It’s a battle everyday feeling like I’m not enough for my family and that I’ve let them down. It tugs at my heart that you’re having another baby, I’m so happy for you, but also sad for me. Maybe one day it will be different. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Definitely makes me feel less alone 💞

I’m 34 and have an 8 year old and a 15 year old. It’s crazy how much different the seasons feel. I can’t even remember babies anymore and it makes me so sad, but I absolutely could not have any more kids. We are heading towards independence and it’s exciting, also! We still have a younger kid, but it’s totally different when they’re able to help themselves a lot more.

Watched this in the morning before work. My current stage of life is married, no kids, early on in my career. I have loved watching your journey and totally view you as a “big sister.” You could make a video about anything and I’d watch 😂

Hi Jessica...My season of life is just becoming an empty nester! I'm 58. I have a 28 year old who lives near Boston and had a great career. I have twin boys who are 18. One just joined the Marines and one lives in Vermont and works in HVAC. So I'm like in the opposite season you are in!!! Funny! I sobbed when my last child left for basic training. Yet I'm tired!! Ready for it to be just me and my husband!!!

To get the stickers off: try a hair dryer to soften the adhesive, then scrape with a plastic scraper. Both Goo Gone and Magic Erasers can (and likely WILL) damage the paint.

Oil will often break up the adhesive if the heat doesn't do the trick.

My season of life right now- I’m 25, going through a hard breakup, really excelling in my career, traveling the country for work, just bought a multi family house on my own &became a landlord. We are in wildly different stages of life but I still love watching your videos and hearing you talk about the changes you’re going through and thinking of where I’ll be in 7 years from now when I’m 32. it’s exciting and scary at the same time.

I'm 34 and my son turns 14 in two months. He's an only child so it's so nice to have him be independent and be able to focus on myself again. I've been back in school for a year and a half and I currently have a 3.8 GPA. It's been a really good distraction for me during COVID. I'm currently in the process of really trying to simplify our lives by cutting back on buying and donating what we don't need. Then I want to focus on some home projects.

Daycare or preschool is SOOOO good for them. But I got a bit emotional thinking about my boy's first day and the surreal/emotional day I had! My heart was with you through all of this!

Watching you smile while sorting the baby clothes brought back so many memories. My youngest will be 8 soon and my baby days are over and it breaks my heart. I will be 40 this year and coming to terms with not having more, my age and looking forward to this next season has me all in my feels.

Right there with you. Kids are 8 and 10. I turn 40 in March. Idk when that happened. Life is weird. 😭

I’m 61 and would have a baby right now if that was possible. Lol I have 2 adult kids but NO grand babies yet! 😭 My son just got married and they are wanting to start quickly so I’m praying for that. But yeah I’ve always wanted a bunch of kids but when there’s a divorce in there it throws your whole life off course.

I’m in my mid 30s with one in kindergarten and one in preschool. I am loving this stage of life and the independence my kiddos have- I could not think of having babies again 😋

I didn’t have my 3 kids until I was in my 30’s so I’m getting older but since my kids are younger (11, 13,15) they keep me young. I’m in that stage where I’m dreading them driving, going off to college etc. Big milestones ahead.

Laundry folding vlogs sound fantastic!
@lisaboersma58032 жыл бұрын
I love the laundry vlog idea. It’s no different then a GRWM really. And I am often either knitting or doing laundry when I’m watching. Haha. Or getting ready. So please Let’s get laundry done together. Your question about what season of life I’m in hit me hard. I am 39 and dreading 40…. “Over the hill” almost. And I am dealing with a major life change because of a physical health issue that got worse last year so taking a minute to think about where I am and how far I have come is both hard and great. I have amazing 20yr old son and great family but a terrible job and have been single for about 19yrs so some changes need to happen. I enjoy watching you and Tyler as you are my relationship goals as far as you being interested in hanging out and doing things together (games at night and traveling and DISNEY) you are my fav youtuber. Keep up the great work.
