vlog: reading update, summer bucket list, camping in tofino, almost 30 diaries

I know I'm late to this vlog but I always try not to watch your videos immediately and rather hold them back for moments that I need this specific mood/vibe so I came to watch this video today, after I've had a very...let's say depressing start of morning -- it's a grey and rainy day at the end of summer plus missing my family in Ontario, Canada - so I knew a video of yours would help me find comfort and kind of make me feel a bit closer to home somehow. Plus seeing those summer vibes is just so beautiful and make me want to make the best of the remaining summer days. It's just all a bit harder if you dont have any friends close to you (I recently moved to a new city in Germany). Thanks for your videos and thoughts xxx

Recently read Didion’s my year of magical thinking, loved it. The topic of grief and what that leaves you with and what you should make of it struck a chord. Everything she described was so achingly relatable, especially when it comes to a partner you want to spend your life with. Currently reading Blue nights by her as well, loving that one so far too! that's one of my favourite books! really what drew me into didion's writing and then i read so many of her other books. i think my favourite the collection of stories in slouching towards bethlehem. i haven't got to blue nights yet but it's on my tbr!

you should check out the tea rooms at the government house! they make their food from the gardens there and it is so sweet :') i would especially recommend their desserts!

I majored in literature and for a while there I really struggled with reading for my own enjoyment but now it feels like I'm slowly but surely finding my way back to it :) I don't know if you know Emily St John Mandel but she's a canadian author I highly recommend, especially her novels Station Eleven and The Glass Hotel.
