meg, thank you so much for talking about "wedding bodies." I got married in 2015 and I didn't lose a pound. I refused. I'm a fat lady & felt a lot of pressure to conform to diet culture as a bride. Much happier to not waste my time and energy! we decided to get married because we love each other and that was the most important thing! Also, if I rrsp no to someone's wedding, I sure as heck ain't giving a gift! I don't think receiving an invite equates to buying a gift. honestly! if you're a close friend then maybe, but otherwise that is such a strange thing. perhaps I misunderstood you but how presumptuous of some ppl lmao.

I just want to say that even though I don’t know if I ever want to be married, and am not sure if I will be able to (I’m a lesbian so especially right now idk what’s going to happen in America) it has been incredibly inspirational and motivating to have you talk about not shaving throughout the years. I have come into myself with my choices on not shaving over the past few years, and it is only because of your constant discussion and support of women who choose to not shave that I’ve had a mentor in that! Especially as someone who presents more femininely, it is very hard to come to terms with that aspect of my own body, and not worry about what other people think. Thank you, thank you, thank you. My partner and I don't plan on getting married;however, domestic partnership and agreements of that nature intrigue us! We also love the idea of a wedding (even if we don't make it truly official, or we sign partnership agreements instead of an actual marriage certificate). I have been watching all of the wedding videos and they are so inspiring! I can't wait for my fake wedding someday!

i work at Kay Jewelers & i inspect rings every day - sometimes prongs get bent or stones get loose/cracked so it’s a good idea to go into whatever jeweler you want to get it checked under the gemscope to make sure you’re not at risk of losing a diamond! xx love u queeeen

I appreciate you addressing these weird comments newly engaged couples end up receiving. Its so weird getting comments from your family or friends on your OWN body. Since being engaged a couple of weeks ago, I already started to feel the social pressure of "looking a certain way" for the big day. I kept thinking bridal stores would look at my body structure and deny working with me. But if they did, they're not the kind of store I want to go to for my dress anyway. There have been many brides that I've seen that look similar to my body shape that look freakin' beautiful! Look how you want to on your wedding day y'all, its purely for you and your partner's love for each other. Nobody else!

I’m a wedding guest this summer and I’ve already found myself having “am I enough?” thoughts when thinking about what dress to wear. The thoughts are so quick and so ingrained and I’m glad I catch them. It’s all relative, nothing is inherently good or bad, and I always have to remind myself of that. I focus on working on confidence with current body, and not working on losing weight. It’s hard to be surrounded by people with the “society” outlook and narrow views. i have that airfryer, i can’t get it clean either!! not completely at least. i’ve used some cleaning paste from norwex to scrub the glass door. as for the trays, i just soak them but they always look dirty 🤦🏻‍♀️

Can definitely relate to the body comments during wedding season. I wore my hair naturally curly for my wedding and got comments if I was going to "do anything" to it SMH. It's absolutely best to feel and look like yourself & be comfortable on your day

Wedding planning can be so emotionally weird and hurtful for so many reasons. Sorry you went through that, but good for you for having boundaries/realizing its a them thing not a you thing. The amount of times my mom casually asked if I was going to get my teeth "fixed" before my wedding 🙄 like no, I'm not showing up as a different person, like you said lol. In no other context would you say that to someone, so doing it at such an emotionally vulnerable time is especially rude imo. Just enjoy your wedding you two, you'll have the time of your life! 🥂

I don't know how different the air fryer is from a regular oven, but a hot tip I learned for cleaning grease stains from your oven is to use one of those powder dishwasher pods slightly dampened directly on it! It works like a charm, I've been a fool all these years not knowing that. Maybe it will work on your air fryer!

I am not from the States so just super curios about something you said about the wedding tradition there - Why do people who don't attend the wedding also HAVE to get the wedding gift? Is it also the case with all other occastions with invitations where you would usually take a gift like birthdays, baby showers, etc.? It just seems a bit silly, like, yes, you could give the gift I you want to, but since you'll not attend the party then why would you HAVE to send the gift? :O It seems like the same when some people say you have to lose weight for the wedding or have to shave!? Ok, if your rake handle is wood….put it together properly with the metal tube thing down tight in place. Turn the rake upside down and bang the rake on a hard surface a few times to really set it. Then soak it in water a couple of hours. The wood will swell and force it to stay in place. This works for an ax, too. In the old days they would put it in the river for a good soak so you didn’t kill anyone then the ax flew off the ax handle while chopping wood. 😂😅

this is very random but i’m so surprised that you are not a birkenstock girly! they’re super comfy bc the cork fits to your foot and last years if you take care of them! and once they get worn out you don’t have to buy a new pair they will repair the cork or the sole. so it’s a super sustainable company if you’re in the market for new sandals. as a birk girly i must spread the gospel!

My spouse and I got married in 2004, we did a court wedding first and just invited our parents and who ever wanted to attend, which were my spouses parents and younger sister, my parents and one of my aunties came. We did that because they were/are still military about to retire. So we didn’t have time to plan oh I forgot the dads couldn’t make it which was very sad for me. Then 4 years later my parents put together a wedding which was a Diné traditional wedding and mostly my dads side showed up and on my moms side that didn’t believe in the traditional ways, did not come. But the Diné wedding was awesome. I loved it and no body ruined it. All I know is I helped out with stuff during the day and had an hour to get ready. Lol there was no honey moon just they stayed with me at my moms home as they always did before. Lol one thing is we’re jinxed on wedding or anniversary wedding night we don’t make love lol and we’re okay with that. Then as the week went by it was off to there next duty station. Oh and we didn’t do gift registry because we had what we already had or have. Everyone just got what they wanted and we enjoyed them. Got a lot of dinner wear sets which lasted and when it went bad we opened a new one. Some stuff we still have like blankets.

One important life lesson I learned was that people get really weird around important life events. They somehow feel that you're very important monumental Life event is also something you should share with them because they're entitled to it.. and they start saying all kinds of crazy off the wall shit. And you're just standing there looking at them like who are you the whole time they're going on.

Serious question: how do you get comfortable around bugs and outside critters? I love the outdoors, gardening, and all that fun stuff. But if something bigger than the size of a jelly bean comes into my personal space, I take off 😩

Hmm, I would say exposure therapy! When you see a larger bug or critter ( and you know that it will not hurt you, its just icky ), take some deep breaths after your initial reaction, and try to go back to what you were doing/where you were when you saw whatever it was that made you uncomfortable. Count to 10, 20, 30 whatever, and the higher the number the better youre doing! Occasionally harmless bugs and critters will invade personal space, but typically you don't have much to worry about, they're curious about ya! You'll get there :)

I have a pretty irrational fear of ticks, so something that helps me is applying a good tick repelling bug spray before an outdoor adventure. I know this probably isn’t the most environmentally friendly option, but it eases my mind knowing that potentially dangerous bugs won’t harm me!

I just got married and the biggest question I get is “when are you guys having a baby?” Or “are you pregnant?” It feels like I’m being punched in the face every time someone says that. I’m having terrible physical health and on chemo. My doctors were like right now children are out of the equation and the medications I’m on is messing with my reproductive organs. So I’m most likely going to have fertility issues. So these questions are hurtful man.

Yeah the whole “bridal boot camp” weight loss thing is bogus. I mean your lover knows what your body looks like and was so in love with it that they want to marry you.
