For anyone in the UK, you are able to get a prescription for Finacea 15% Azelaic Acid from The Independent Pharmacy, an online service where you fill in a questionnaire, upload photos of your face/symptoms, and this is reviewed by a dermatologist who can approve prescription where appropriate and the cream/gel is sent next day delivery. This saved on trying to get an appointment with a GP (anyone in London knows how hard that can be) also saved on the cost of having an actual appointment with a Dermatologist which was not in my budget at this time, although under normal circumstances I would prefer to have that 1:1 time with a Derm! I just started on my 15% Azelaic Acid and I am seeing better results than with my previous version from The Ordinary 10%.

How do you combine the Azelaic 20% with Tretinoin? What or how would be the skin care routine?
@angelikidekaristou55354 жыл бұрын
In Europe we have Skinoren 15% azelaic acid. I use one day Skinoren and the other day Airol (tretinoin)

I would love it if Finacea were available OTC too. With insurance, generic 15% Finacea cost me $335 for one tube 😥. I decided just to use 10% azelaic from Paula's Choice for a fraction of the cost. The Ordinary azelaic is good too, except I don't like their formula under makeup or sunscreen, so only use it at night.

Hi Dr. Ray! Thanks for all of this valuable information. I have a question: can adapalene cause bacterial resistance or is it safe as azelaic acid?

You’re looking glowingly beautiful Dr. Andrea, from head to toe girl! Truly like a breath of fresh air! I’ve spent all day watching your videos, and I just bought a few silicone patches from SiO! Thanks for recommending them and for the coupon. Can’t wait to try. Praying your beautiful mom is faring well with everything. Stay safe. Blessings. 💛💛💛

Hey Dr Dray - love your channel! 🤗 Would it be too much to ask you to put together a skincare routine using the drugstore products for different skin types? ( setting up the groups on a table, talk about each group - the procedure of your recommended products). When watching all the great product recommendations, I can get confused as to how and when to use them ( ex. For anti-aging. What products. Cleansing and moisturizer ... etc. what’s best for the am routine. Pm routine. Once a wk or month. what to use for the wrinkles forehead , corners of month, smile lines, crows feet. When do you apply that. Sunscreen). Love your pink heart cooking pan! All your material is very good. I’m learning about skin and products. Love your humor too. 😄

i absolutely love azelaic acid! i use the paula’s choice 10% booster and have had great results for my acne, but i really really would love to use the 20% concentration. my skin was very dry and very very sensitized when i started using it and i feel its anti-inflammatory properties have helped both my sensitivities and my acne!

That’s how I started too with the PC Azelaic Acid! Then when I got 15% Finacea it was a game changer. It’s definitely strong so you’d need to hydrate a lot.

Dr Dray, 1. can azelaic acid cream be applied to the skin together with tretinoin cream simultaneously? 2. is azelaic acid used daytime or it makes no difference as to when it is used? 3. are there consequences for stopping azelaic acid, say after a period of time? 4. what is the order in which azelaic acid is used on the skin? THANK YOU

My local markets are still empty but if I drive to the Costco about 20 minutes away, they are fully stocked. Bleach, paper goods, cleaning supplies, everything. I’ve also noticed that my local Kroger Brand King Soopers has increased their prices on what they do have. Totally uncool. By the way, where did you find that adorable pink shorts and jacket?

My flossing game has improved from 1-2 days a week to 7 days lol. Thanks quarantine! Johnson & Johnson listerine waxed floss is my fave. Coco floss is nice too. But I can bet your dentists office is being negatively affected by this shutdown. Where I live the governing body of dentists is super strict and have been closed since March 16. So glad my mom and I got our teeth cleaned in February.
