It was John's video about Understanding the Budget Deficit, I saw someone share it on facebook in November of 2012. At the time I was living in Cambodia, working (well, volunteering) at an orphanage in Phnom Penh teaching English, Music, and Computer Literacy for a Service Organization that I was working to start with some college colleagues of mine. The organization didn't really take off, but I was their first 'on-the-ground' teacher. After that first video, I explored the channel and watched vlogbrothers videos for hours on end. It became a comfortable, safe place for me to be during those evenings when it wasn't safe for me to be anywhere but in my small room. It was the only fluent English I heard for the remaining 2 months of my time there. I've been watching vlogbrothers ever since. My knowledge of nerdfighters was a HUGE selling point for my now-husband's younger sister; I'm pretty sure that's when she decided that I was cool. And now I listen to old vlogbrothers videos while I feed my newborn daughter. I like vlogbrothers because it asks me to think complexly...and be awesome.

The "You Are Here" video John made in 2017 about Nerdfighteria and Esther and all that she was. I watched it only a few hours after it was posted, and I didn't know that that was the perfect time to be there, with the best commenters and interactions between Nerdfighters. That was the perfect first video to me, because it drew me into this amazing community, wanting to know more about Esther and Nerdfighteria and just everything here. I have watched almost every vlogbrothers video now, my Nerdfighteria flag and other awesome stuff comes very soon, and I am so happy to be a part of this community. DFTBA.

My first Vlogbrother's video was Accio Deathly Hallows, and I listened to it about 2 days after Deathly Hallows actually came out, and cried because you predicted Hedwig's death and I was like "holy shit". So I investigated and continued watching, and you guys have contributed so much to how I've grown as a person from little 2007 7th grade me, to not-so-little 2013 college me. Thank you.

My first vlogbrothers video was either your song "I Know" or your song "A Song About an Anglerfish." It was back in the summer of 2014 when I had some of my friends over to swim at my house and one of them showed me both of those songs, and I loved them both. From then on, I started watching more and more of your videos, and then I saw one where you referenced the tiny chickens, and I wanted to know the true source of the inside joke, so I vowed to watch every vlogbrothers video in order from the beginning. Here I am, nearly two years later, enjoying every minute and every second of these videos that I watch. I just want to say thank you to John and Hank (although I doubt they will ever see this), because I have grown so fond of this channel and it has made me so much happier than I ever was. So thank you, DFTBA, and Best Wishes!

Definitely the first one was you and John explaining what Nerdfighters were, since a friend of mine was trying to explain and it wasn't working. I then decided that I was going to do it right, and watched, from the very beginning, every single Vlogbrothers video. That was three years ago. To this day I still make sure to watch every video (though I don't always watch them on time; I'm in the middle of a catching up phase now). Love you guys. DFTBA.

Hank, the first vlogbrothers video I watched was one my daughter showed me - the one you made after the Newtown school shooting last December. Somehow, you captured the feelings of millions of people in a couple of minutes. That was when I decided to go back to the very beginning and watch all six-plus years.

The first one I watched was in 2011 I believe, and it was just a little announcement video John made saying he'd be at a library about 20 minutes from my house in Indiana and I went to the event, talked to him, asked him about pennies, met him, and had him sign Katherines ALL before I feel like I actually became a Nerdfighter. But then I became a real Nerdfighter and it's changed my life. Thanks John & Hank.

I don't remember which video but it was back in late 2010 or 2011 when I was recovering from surgery. I watched A LOT during that recovery. On a somewhat related note, my nerdy husband was randomly searching answers to questions recently when he started playing a video on KZbin. I looked up realized he had discovered SciShow for himself. He loved it and I loved him all the more for it. Thanks for being awesome, Green bros.

I'm pretty sure the first vlogbrothers video I ever watched was '31 Jokes for Nerds.' It was shown to me sometime in 2010 or 2011 and I thought it was really funny. Then, I was telling someone else about it, looked it up, and started watching your channel. I think I officially subscribed around when Henry was born, though that's not the reason I did so. Sometime in either late 2011 or early 2012, I decided that I would watch no more new vlogbrothers videos until I had watched them all! It has been slow going, but I've gotten from 2009 to 2013 in a little under a month. I'm super excited to get to the new videos. I am so glad I understand awesome nerdfighter things like Puppy-sized elephants and Tiny Chicken Disease, and I have a completely new appreciation for your songs, Hank! It's been a fun journey so far in learning that I am indeed a Nerdfighter and I look forward to many more years in Nerdfighteria!! DFTBA!

First video was "What you eat of those you love". As an enteric epidemiologist I spend most of my days investigating how people end up eating the poop that made them sick, so when one of my friends showed me that video I was hooked! John, I'm sorry you became one of the 48 million Americans to experience a foodborne illness each year, but I think you summed up Norovirus perfectly in that video and I love sharing it with people to explain part of my job!

The first vlogbrothers video I ever watched was We're All Scared. I can honestly say that video changed my life. It opened me up to the idea that creations need to be put into the world and it is my, and everyone else's, responsibility as an individual to create. Since I saw that video, I am very proud to say that as soon as possible I am getting a tattoo that either says or symbolizes the message to "Create in spite of Fear" because that quote has had such a profound impact on my existence.

I have also gone back and watched all the videos that you guys made before I started watching. I've always liked how your videos never get boring or old, they are always new and amazing, and i'm always looking forward to the next one in my subscriptions box. Thank you for that. P.S. 16,001th comment :D

I started watching Vlogbrothers after hearing Hank and John on an episode of Pottercast. I love it when things I love lead me to other things I love. DFTBA.

My first video was the harry potter song when it came out and was featured on youtube. But I didn't realize the awesomeness of vlogbrothers until my friend made me watch them like a year ago. And now I'm trying to watch them all. Because deep down inside I've always been a nerdfighter. :)

First one I ever saw was John's rant about the minting of pennies - must have been right around when it came out, because I was still in undergrad, and my roommate at the time introduced me to it. He was already a longtime viewer

I've been watching from the beginning, although pretty sporadically now. The videos in 2007 were when I was in high school and my friends got me hooked on them (we sent in a picture of us at our prom in 2008 with things on our heads). Good times :)

The first vlogbrothers video I ever saw was Beanie John's Love Advice in mid 2009. My brother sent it to me and was all like "Watch this, it's wonderful!" and I was all like "This is grown man in a beanie making videos in his basement!" ...and then John made fun of himself for the very thing I was making fun of him for. And then I watched all the videos. Every video was engaging and lovely and made me feel like a part of something wonderful. Nerdfighter for life! DFTBA, my friends.

I think it was one of John's question videos in 2012. It was after I read TFIOS and thought, "doesn't that guy have a youtube channel?" and 3 years later I'm still a huge nerdfighter.

about a month ago, I started watching The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, which lead me to the Project for Awesome rading of "the fault in our starts" which also led me to a quote by Hank Green in on the website The Other 95% and for about a month the Hank Green kept popping up in conversations, so I watch some videos, and read some books and have watched about ten a day since, so I have NO idea which one was the first one

I was intoduced to this channel first with "A Song About An Anglerfish". I think it was 2010. I know I got on the bus a little late, but I like to think that this community and the ideas that we can share together is a huge part of who I am. Thanks Hank and John for deciding to be on KZbin. DFTBA

I saw a vlogbrothers' video giffed on tumblr several times during my tumbling career. And they were awesome gifs, but I never got where they came from. Until finally, one lovely person decided to link the channel under their gif, and I found this channel about a month ago. I'm pretty sure the first one I saw was "Raw Onion, Twerking, and Speech Jam". And now I've been steadily marathoning through the channel. You guys rock. Have an awesome day/evening/[insert time frame]! :D

Back in 2007 I searched "Zombie" in youtube videos and I found the one where you and John where talking about zombies vs. ninjas vs. unicorns. I believe it was during one of the polls that Hank was doing and I got hooked!!! I started watching all the vids and that was August 2007.

"How to make guys like you" in September of 2012. My friend had been recommending this channel to me and I thought I'd pick one that might have some good advice for me. Turns out it was some of the best advice ever!

My 1st vlogbrothers video was Hank talking about advertisement. Admittedly it was earlier this year but I have been hooked ever since.
