For Hannah: Your portrayal of Amanda in Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is the best depiction of chronic pain with flare-ups that I've ever seen. I live with fibromyalgia, which is like, less painful pararibulitus without the halucinations and with fatigue. But that scene in the grocery where you showed Amanda being scared to go but excited as through most of the trip she didn't flare up made me feel so seen. No character in anything I've seen has ever had fibro and your portrayal of Amanda is the closest I've ever gotten to seeing that part of myself on screen so thank you Hannah so much for that.

I will grieve the cancellation of that show forever. It looked like season 3 was going to be all about Amanda, too! That show dealt so well with things like chronic pain, fear, and self-doubt. They even showed a female character in her underwear without even the tiniest hint of sexualizing her. The showrunner was a jerk, but the show did everything right. The world is still a better place for having that show in it, but I sure wish we could have had more of it.

It's a weird thing when you start noticing directors. I was about 16-17 and at the time I was big into Luc Besson. I still love a lot of his movies. But the one that I love now is Taika Waititi. A friend of a friend told me to watch _What we do in the Shadows_ and I was hooked. Then _Hunt for the wilderpeople_ came out and that was like the funnies shit ever. It was absolutely no surprise when he got the nod for Thor 3. If you like a movie, you should always check out other movies by the same director. Generally, you will like them too. It's not always true, but mostly.

I really like how John asked "Do you have a favorite color?" rather than "What is your favorite color?" because I used to not have one and the question would kind of stress me out a little. Eventually because I like orange-flavored things, I started saying my favorite color was orange. But at this point in my life I've said it for so long that I think I kind of do like the color orange.
@Kyermemehtar2 жыл бұрын
Ha! That's brilliant 🙂 I've always really liked the word 'purple', but when you have a 4-year-old you need a favorite color. After 7 years of getting precious purple pictures, I'm properly partial to purple. "Do you have..." is certainly the superior question 👍
@trbz_87452 жыл бұрын
I used to say yellow because it's associated with happiness, but then I realized I didn't have a favorite color, but then I realized I DID have a favorite color but it's weirdly specific because it's cyan even though "normal" blue I don't like that much and if you're a straight man and you give someone a very specific favorite color they look at you funny.

Oh my god YES, thank you so much! This video and Hannah's thoughts just reassured me so much that this film will be amazing and go in with the best possible vision. I remember reading TATWD filled with so much emotion while connecting to Aza's struggle, and I could not stop thinking of the possibility of an adaptation and how thought spirals could be symbolised and captured on screen to *look* as the character would *feel* and I found it to be such an exceptional film to make. But I also dreaded an adaptation because I didn't know if the team involved would go for the same thing. I'm now so relieved to see everyone is so aware of Aza's brain being integral to the entire tale, and that the focus really is on exploring that in creative ways that make the experience come to life. Thank you so much, Hannah and John and everyone involved, for taking on this daunting task with so much considerate understanding of what is being explored and doing so much to make sure it's uniquely and faithfully represented. It gives me peace.
