VMAX 1700 CERAMIC packed Hindle muffler on Hindle 4-1 system

This is my Hindle 4-1 VMAX with ceramic packing in the muffler vs. the stock packing. It seems to have given more bass and less V4 internal sounds, but still has that rattle when you rev to mid level at idle. It does NOT rattle while riding, only at idle. I think it is a resonation of the muffler (its construction) itself, since my other muffler doesn't do it at all on the same system.

I like the rasp on the high end. Reminds me of my Hindle 4 to 1 on my old gen 1!

It really doesn't bother me. It only really does it when I blip the throttle. A smooth rev up then down, doesn't produce any rasp or rattle. I don't sit and rev it like some other bikers do at the lights...lol. It's incredible how much different it sounds from the Morley Muscle muffler with the same header setup. I like them both for different reasons. I subbed your channel...btw. Cool to keep up with your upgrades and advances, too!

Which Hindle muffler is it? The super sport or stealth? Great sounding bike 👍

I have the voodoo exhaust and have thought about making the switch over to your Hindle 4-1 setup. What do you think of it? Is it quieter at an idle? Performance difference?

I have to admit I do miss my loud VooDoo's at times, but really have grown to love the Hindle 4-1. I have 4 options of mufflers I run on that system, depending upon which tone I want. The Hindle muffler provides the quietest at idle. I have a striaght pipe turnout, that is crazy. I actually have a sleeved to 2.25" VooDoo megaphone like my old system had with a blue tip, and then this one. I think this one is my favorite because it just has a deep intimidating resonance on decel and the idle is pretty cool, in my opinion. Give it a listen! kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6jYioyJjt5kjbc

Did you have to modify the rear wheel jack stand from Harbor freight I’ve got a 2015 edit doesn’t seem to be white enough how did you get yours to fit

I placed my floor jack with some wood blocks inside it and spread it about 2-3 inches. Once it bounced back, it was perfect. The tubing did not kink, nor did it lose any strength. Been holding it fine for 3 years now. I meant for it to be temporary, but it works so well, I think I'll just keep using it. Call me cheap, but it worked...lol!

Probably something externally rattling I doubt its internal.

Yep...its nothing to do with the packing or the internals. When I run the other heavier muffler that I show standing on the floor (Morley Muscle Can), it does none of that. It could be something as simple as those stainless straps resonating and rattling a bit when I rev. It only happens when sitting still and revving. I don't find the need to rev every 10 seconds at every stoplight, so I think I will be fine, and love the sound. My phone mic does it no justice. There is a marked difference from the stock packing.

@@mikekemp262 Ya my V65 and my 1100 shadow both do that sort of rattle crap LOL! if its internal you will know it no doubt. really most of the time those rattle will eventually rattle themselves away.

When I went from the stock exhaust to the full headers from Hindle, could hear the "sewing machine" sounds from the internals for the V4 right there at the head because of the thin stainless. The stock is thick stainless with an additional guard, and that buffers a lot of those noises. I don't even hear it now. If I want a good low base tone, I just stick that big ol' diesel can on that I show on the floor. It has a low resonance on decel that is just awesome! I love the V65's. Do you have the Magna or Sabre? I have ridden them. They are nothing to get caught off guard by. I had a Gen 1 V-Max and they were in the same class for sure!
