SpeedoHealer Gen2 VMAX 1700 Install Tips

This video is to help Gen 2 VMAX riders find the wire they need to tap into when installing the SpeedoHealer on their VMAX. Not an actual install, but this should help you install. Pardon my crappy video skill. I don't suggest where to mount the top speed button. You can put it anywhere. I routed mine along the right side of the airbox and it comes out on the front side of my faux tank cover.

just about to install the same kit on my tracer 900 2018 and this helps clarify a few questions i had . obviously i need to identify my signal wire first . nice to know i can adapt the instructions a little

Excellent video Mike. However, videos can only teach so much whereas an in-person demonstration can be a much better source of detailed information. Any chance we can get you to come over and present this LIVE and in-person to us at the upcoming 2022 Mountain Home, AR Vmax rally, 2nd weekend in OCT? It'd be great to see both you and your son again. It's been too long. :)

I wonder if this would void my warranty if I was to do this to my 2020 ? I’ve thought mine was near 5 mph over at highway speeds.

Hello sir. My original speedometer was bout 5mph off at 60mph on bike speedometer my cellphone said 55mph. I installed the same speedohealer you got and its rite on now.

Does the vmax have a shitty odometer? Whys this mod neccessary?

Most bikes are this way....I've been told by a LOT of performance motorcycle riders that their speedometer is off by 5-10%. A motorcycle mechanic I know who has worked on a lot of different makes confirmed it. I think that it sucks that it misrepresents the speed high by that much and it also causes the bike to add up miles faster, as well. Mine is GPS accurate at the most common cruising speeds now. I rode one time with my son. He has the exact same make/model, tire size, etc. We mad sure to take the same route, make the same turns, etc. On his uncorrected bike, he was 7% off of GPS speedometer on his phone (at highway speeds) mounted to the bars. He also ended up with 7% more miles on the trip meter. You'd think the manufacturers of all these bikes would just make it accurate, and be done.

@yusuf islam It reads high in stock form, meaning it will rack up the miles until it is reduced. Mine was 6.7% to get GPS accurate speed at my most common highway speeds.

European law requests all street legal vehicles from factory indicating at least 3% more speed than real. This is to make sure that the driver doesn't exceed speed limit from wrong indication of his speedometer even with worn down tires or whatever. To be on the safe side, the manufacturers aim more like +5%. I don't know regulations in the US but with the partially ridiculous law system there I guess it is similar there and the producers of vehicle top up even more to reduce probability of getting sued by a driver that got caught speeding.

I agree, but my reasoning is two part. I want to have my own freedom to know how fast I am actually riding, and I want my odometer to reflect actual miles, not inflated miles because of a speedometer that is 6-7% overstated. I realize tire wear has an effect, but that can be adjusted with this device if a person is that analytical. Good points, though.
