Sage is one of the (unfortunately very) few pro athlete's with the guts to seriously address the doping problem. Very refreshing!

I'm shy alot of the time but I'll say it finally I've been subscribed to you for a month or just over a month .you changed my life pretty much and before I was into fitness before running but running captured me when I saw the one of your videos . Now I run every day and I started learning guitar and singing a little amount of time before seeing your video .2 to 2 1/2 weeks after I subscribed to your channel I heard ccr song on a video of yours intro so I told everyone (my running guy listens to ccr ) then I see you playing guitar and I was happy. God brought me to you I'm only 23 and i lost my daughter to murder 5 years or so ago and running has saved me ......... thank you for being cool:) and for being yourself I'm sure your being yourself in your vid. :) I'll be honest I dont usually comment or put lots of stuff even on social media but you really have changed my life I wanna push myself to be good at everything for my family my name is steven and i can only hope that you will see this .. but it kinda dont matter though because I'm happy just being able to be the first like on the video :) I dont expect someone to read this and feel sorry or totally understand what has happend in my life. So basically the point is I'm all grateful that I was able to learn from you :) thanx

Good luck Sage. One of the main reasons I have stayed subscribed to your Channel. Is that you have always stood up for what you believe in, and always admit when you might be wrong or have made a mistake. I also believe in your drug-free philosophy. I like that you are very analytical about your beliefs. On that note don't put your money where your mouth is money is dirty haha. Keep up the good work and hopefully I'll see you at speedgoat next year.

Hit the nail on the head mate! Doping is definitely going on at the top end of the sport. There is nothing stopping elite MUT runners on month long "training camps" also going through an EPO cycle. MUT running is where professional cycling was in the 80s and early 90s, completely with its head in the sand.

You have a great attitude to clean sport Sage. It would be great to see athletes across all sports put up money to have extra out of competition testing. However, the majority of athletes at the top level are doping, even with massive out of competion urine test, blood tests biological passports etc. So if there is no out of competion testing doping will be rife, which unfortunately will put you as clean athlete at massive disadvantage and cost you medals, prize money and sponsorship. Must be gutting. Well done keeping it clean and hope you can keep hitting PRs

Lance Armstrong never tested positive. Chris Froome got off using salbutamol :-/. Good luck catching the smart running cheats. Luckily I don't give a toss about placing and just my own performance versus what training and effort I've put in. Have a great day at Pikes

Go Sage! I’m hoping to drive up from northern NM and check out the race. I’d like to get some footage of the race with a gimbal somewhere on the course. Do you have any suggestions of good spots on the course? Any spots with wider trail sections (last thing I would want is to be in the way of racers or golden trail filmers) ?

What are your plans after Pikes? CIM is on 8 December. 47 of the 163 current Men's OQTs in the full marathon distance have come from CIM. That's 28.83%. Have you considered running this race to obtain your OQT?

You are an amazingly hard worker great runner, person & coach, that inspires people from ultra runners to people training for their first 5k, but I was hoping you weren’t going to say being on the podium & sponsorship boasts the subscribes & the ego, I thought to be a great runner like you the main thing that motivates u & inspires you would be a deep connection to the earth, & to feel the thrill of reaching your own human potential, something that transcends beyond your physical self, i was hoping you were going to say something like the journey to where you want to be is a connection to the source of spiritual power, where there is no winners or losers, no ego money or sponsors
@brianshilloby14115 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be too dissuaded, I dont think that he was saying that's why he does it, more so that hes realistic and he realises it is a driving factor for a lot of people. The pressure from which can lead people into doping etc.
