Thanks, Sandi, for being such a powerful, positive role model for Sage (& all of us!), and motivating him to take better care of himself through a better diet, more strength training, etc.! 🤗 You are such an excellent, beautiful life teammate. 💓 Your running family LOVES to see you both running strong!

I'm in tears watching this. I'm happy for you, and for myself. I placed 2nd in a local club race yesterday, and this is the first time where I place in a race. I used to be obese 10 years ago weighing +100 kg. Discipline over motivation, day by day. Well done Sage. Keep inspiring.

As someone who has hiked pikes, I have the utmost respect for you. Under 8 hours round trip is insane, let alone 3:39.

So happy for you Sage! As weird as it is, I feel genuine pride in you for your approach and deserved pay-off. You share so much that we benefit from and so much of your journey that I think we end up quite invested in your story. Great that you're coming back to see us in Scotland too - best of luck!

Dude, I've been out the past 7 months with 2 slipped discs, and couldn't bring myself to watch any running related videos. Good thing is now I get to binge on your videos. So happy to see you smash it out there. As I'm tentatively starting back, this gives me a whole lot of motivation to get back out there, get back to fitness and try and smash my own goals. Keep it up big fella, all the best! Paddy

Sage! Huge congrats, being second to Kilian is something 99,99999% of runners can only dream of. You are the coolest guy out there, always so humble and willing to go into detail on your own training strategies. Biiiig Kudos! You are the most inspiring runner for me, been with this channel forever, love your Strava profile too, so educating. I hope I'll get the chance to see you run live one day and scream "Go Sage!" from the top of my lungs ;)

Sage, it's great to see your happy about a race performance. From a viewer's perspective you I'd like to see you happy more often. I know the struggle is real, and it's always difficult to dial training in perfectly, avoid injury, and avoid the temptation to over race, but I hope you're able to dial thing in so we can see a happy Sage more often. I understand that being your own worst critic is necessary to ultimately have race performances like the one you did at Pikes Peak this year, but I just want to know that you know you're impressive discipline and knowledge is always leading to progression even when it doesn't necessarily feel that way. Congrats on the amazing race and for always representing Boulder favorably in life, on the trail, and in races!

Sage, you should use that bit of a trip clip as your intro to *every* video. I laughed out loud (not because you almost fell but because of your comment) and it reminds everyone that pro runners sometimes slip too! Glad your hard work paid off.

Awesome race, Sage. You should come back to the UTMB, but to race in the OCC or CCC. You would ace them. The CCC in particular starts with 1400 m D+ over 9.2 km, and there are a few other similar vertical stretches. The races are won and lost there (saying someone who finished the OCC in the last quarter and DNFed at the CCC ...)
