Finally a reaction that does Emily's voice justice! I've gotten really tired of reactors talking about Chester for 6-10 minutes and then listening to the song like "yeah, she's good, best of luck to LP". I think Emily will be a huge part of their music going forward and I'm very much looking forward to hearing more! Thank you for actually breaking it down and doing it justice
@apeekintimeАй бұрын
Yeah... of course Emily will be a large part of their music going forward. LP knew no singer would be accepted by fans because that's just how fans are. Their audience is a bunch of 30-40 year old who grew up on the original album and don't listen to new music. They are happier just listening to the first album on repeat and don't want anything to change, ever. That audience was going to shit on anyone, even a clone of Chester, named Bester, who could actually sing the melodies AND the screams. Mike and the producers knew they can't win. They accepted that and decided they are going to roll forward and do what they want. They know the fans will eventually cave or they'll just make new fans. None of it matters - Mike and the band are rich beyond belief and don't need to work. They are only making more music because they like to make music. Fans or no fans really doesn't matter for them.

@@Timo8.2. Linkin Park existed before Chester and Mike has every right to continue it after his passing. I love every album and 95% of the songs from LP. This reaction made me really emotional for a reason. I guess mostly because it validates what my thoughts where about Emily's singing and Mike's absolute genius composition for this song. Man, what a way to introduce a new era for a band that's gone through so much with losing Chester, a band that's been loved by so many people across generations... Truly making a statement that Chester's legacy is not being replaced, but continued in the most respectful way: by letting his influence fuel the band's creativity and the fans' craving for more. Just so impactful and I love to see it happen
@zepyiMАй бұрын
Chester will never be replaced no matter what anyone says. I love your comment and I wish more people thought like you. Emily is here to continue Linkin Park's history. What people need to realize is that NO, Emily is not meant to replace Chester but to honor him, as I've always said, "If Mike's happy, I'm happy" which is ultimately what post 2017 is all about. I see people commenting on various social media that some artists/vocalists should take/got Emily's place which is also a tragic part if you are really a Linkin Park fan.. I say this, don't you like the new Linkin Park? Nobody cares. We need to respect their choice and I personally love what they have come up with. Emily is PERFECT for Linkin Park.

When the lens went blurry I legit had to double check if I had my glasses on 🤣 Also yes Emily is absolutely the right choice. Had they brought in a male vocalist he would forever live in Chester's shadow and I don't think many other female singers could bring that amount of grit and emotion. And Chester's strength was not in fact his voice but the emotion he conveyed with his voice.

Linkin Park has been one of my favorites since its conception, this breathes new life, and love your analysis Lolli xx

There is a live version of this already! You have to watch it, seriously she sounds live EXACTLY the same😭

Wtf, it's the opposite, they can't sing at all live. It was out of tune by far. Like Linkin Park always was live, but Emily is wayyyyy worse. I love her voice, but she can't handle it right for a whole song. The guy who sing the first part has a lot of difficulty too. I'm musician and I literally LIVE because of music and had big hope for this live show. I just listening to beginning of the show and I close it, I can't listen at that much mistakes.

I love how passionate and descriptive you are in this review. I watched every second and it’s like you elaborated on how I was feeling about that song the first time I heard it. It’s the first video I’ve watched of yours which was more than enough for me to subscribe. Keep it up!

When I hear Emily screaming on 'Emptiness Machine', it makes me feel like she's yelling directly at me, but somehow it's also hopeful? It's weirdly uplifting? I love how she channels that anger and pain into something that feels powerful and real. She totally fits the vibe of Linkin Park's old sound - I'm so here for this new direction! And btw: actually their guitarist is also new Alex Feder, cause Brad is only doing the studio work.

Even her own music with Dead Sara has a lot of the "anger channeled into rebellion" vibe, "f you, I won't do what you tell me". Punk vibes. Incidentally, her band has covered Rage Against the Machine before.

At 5:02 i can hear Chester’s scream 🥺🤩 I know it’s not but …
@iminmypjs34282 ай бұрын
Yes!! Thank you, that was exactly what I though when I was listening to the song for the first time. It's almost like a remnant of Chester's scream that you can hear off in the distance. Made me tear up🥲

people asked Mike in his discord about it too, and he said that you can believe that if you like but it wasn't Chester but instead a tease for Emily coming in
