Hello Singderellos
In this video I react to an amazing extreme vocals maserclass! AKA 'Kingdom' by Devin Townsend. In this video, I am watching this performance for the very first time and I analyse his performance and vocal technique.
Here's a link to the original video!
• Devin Townsend perform...
For lessons, workshops and video submissions please check out my website www.thefairyvoicemother.com
I'm so excited to be a part of your singing journey, It's one that truly never ends.
Love you forever,
The Fairy Voice Mother x
.p.s. Sorry about the intense lighting change towards the end. I fought the sun so much recording this and eventually the sun won. But then again it is the sun so I guess that's a lot to be up against, so, you know. I just hope it doesn't ruin it too much for u. If it did, please blame the sun because it is less emotionally vulnerable than me.

If you liked this video and would like to support me to make more in the future, I would be hella grateful for a small donation via this link www.buymeacoffee.com/TFVM (no pressure at all of course- i'll be making videos the best I can anyway) 💜

Why does everyone cream themselves over Deadhead? It's 10+ minutes of tedious repetition with really not much in the way of vocal range from Devin. I get that if you like that type of thing then it's for you, but in terms of being good for a vocal reaction and analysis it's bad. Watch RVA's reaction on it, she was bored shitless.

It's very interesting that you say he 'paints a picture': Devin has synesthesia, sound and vision are mingled for him (I think the neurological explanation for it is crosstalk between the optic and audial nerves) and he's said that notes have shape and colour; so for him at least, there is a literal picture he's painting.

As someone who makes their rounds on reaction channels (especially the ones that react to metal), I cannot tell you how refreshing your videos are! The only other vocal coach reactor I trust aside from you is Mary Z of Voicehacks-and she’s in a metal band. So...what I mean is that it’s lovely to see you becoming more comfortable doing more metal-style vocals. Your channel is going to be huge. With that being said, my top reaction recommendations are Leprous, Spiritbox, and Unleash the Archers. Einar, Courtney, and Brittney, respectively, are among some of the best vocalists in metal (aside from Tatiana of Jinjer and Devy). Much love to you. 🖤🤘🏻

Great vid. I’ve seen a couple but now you’ve done Devy I’ve hit subscribe. He’s my all time favourite artist and you’re now dangerously close to going down the rabbit hole that is his back catalogue. I’d love you to check out something from his latest album Empath. Maybe “Why?” from his quarantine concert? Bit of a change of pace from this track for sure!

you know how "they" say never meet your heroes? Well Devy is one that will not disappoint. Caught him after an acoustic show when he was loading the bus and he took about 20 minutes to chat with me and my girlfriend, signed his book, and even drew a picture in it. I guess it's the Canadian in him but he's mad chill.

Yup. And we're not talking about the infamous guitar solo, here, but the rythm during the song which is nothing like the rythm he's singing. (Not sure I use the correct term here, since I'm from Sweden. Also: not a guitar player, but from my viewpoint the rythm he uses while singing are quite complicated. The solo is not, which is the joke/wise-assing from him to us.)

What's amazing about him is that he has no form of training. He hates watching reactions to his music because he has no idea technically whats going on with his voice. It's pure natural talent. P.S. that vocal fry you did was very immpessive. Most people with years of training still can't do that.

Hi there! I don't really comment on videos but I wanted to take a moment and thank you for your videos. They're not only informative but there's a positivity and you seem to have such an honest love for what you're doing that's infectious. In a world that often seems to be getting more and more unabashedly unpleasant, your quirk and joy for what you're doing is a sure fire way to help put all that stuff aside for a few minutes whenever you release a new video. Keep up the good work and you're an A+ human being. :)

I have watched many reviews by vocal coaches of this Devin Townsend video and I found yours the most interesting. It was filled with a lot of information about how Devin is producing his vocal sound and you actually duplicated them while explaining it. You were also entertaining and had great video editing.
