Conan O'Brian said in an interview that by the time the second verse started, every single crew member working backstage had stopped what they were doing and they had all come out to watch this performance like Moth's drawn to a light. Conan said that was the first and only time he had ever witnessed that happen during his 20+ year career as a Talk Show Host.

This is the best version of the song i have ever heard. David's grandfather was a Cantor and David had been training most of his life. The real thing that makes this version soo incredible is that he performed the song that night with a bleeding lesion on his vocal cord and refused to cancel because he had given his word therefore he was not about to break his commitment that night.
@unknownrider30719 ай бұрын
David didn't say anything about his lesion bleeding.

People will tell you he had the flu. But I just watched an interview with David and it turns out he had a bleeding lesion on his vocal cord. This makes it even MORE impressive. He was trained as a Cantor and after 20+ years still works with a vocal coach. One more thing, I’d love to hear you do a break down of PENTATONIX. The number one a capella group in the world.

@barbaraantonelli778211 ай бұрын
Watch the video so not only do you get the vocal but the truly best depiction of a song I've ever heard & saw. This song came out in the mid-60s when I was a kid. It hooked me then. And since then I've heard it literally thousands of times, some good covers some not so much. I'll confess I used to eat sleep & breathe S&G. No version could top them - until this. Even just listening to it now, it gave me goose bumps down to & under my toes. David Draiman brought all the disappointment, sadness & anger from his life to this song. End of story. Full stop. Period. Forever.

The thing about this version he was so sick. He like a fear of a hundred and two, but they forced him to sit down.. Because he wasn't not going to perform. This is the version Simon heard email Tim right away. She told him he had the song it was blown away by this version. What people don't know I watched give them do an interview david He's classically train because he wanted to be at candar. If you've never heard to call to prayer in synagogue, you're missing out.. Does how he's to get to those places it's the most beautiful haunting sound. Everybody thinks disturbed the screaming, it's not. He's the only person with the powerful screaming that I've heard that can actually control it. It's like it comes from his feet.

Touching on creating more than one sound with your voice, the singers I enjoy the most are those with multifaceted vocals. Particularly in rock and metal, where some are capable of both melodic singing and also fully distorted growls and screams. To me it keeps their performances dynamic and fresh, pivoting between multiple sounds.

Hopefully, Justin, you'll consider reacting to Pentatonix some time. They're the best Acapella group ever. As far as I'm concerned, they saved Accapella from extinction. Lots of love to you both.
