The building where Rachel is singing is the Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA. That room is actually specifically designed so that if someone is singing in the "bowl" section of it, you can hear them without a mic. The whole acoustics of that room are actually super cool.

The guy you were asking whos that. His name is Dean Geyer born in South Africa but moved to Australia as a kid. He got known on Aussie idol & was like the "young heartthrob" kind of contestant & then he went on to act in Australian soap opera "Neighbours" which also stared Margot Robbie, Kylie Minogue, Liam Hemsworth over the years then years later he was on that season of glee. They didn't write/do his character great. His personality was liking Rachel

Marley -the new Rachel This was one of the best duets, if you want to look at it that way. Rachel performing at NYADA and Marley auditioning for TND. Competition for Tina, Blaine, and Artie.

I'm glad somebody mentioned that Marley is the New Rachel. Think about it this way; Rachel performing at NYADA in the round room, whilst that band is probably top notch, her rendition or Barbara Streisand. Marley performing for TND, with a band that probably gets paid minimum wage, and doing Billy Joel's version. Either way, it's safe to say this was one of the best performances of Glee. It's also safe to say Marley WILL have had to make it onto TND no questions, and Rachel getting into NYADA.
