Yeah, that's kind of how it happens with Poets - you start with just one song found randomly, and then suddenly hours have gone by and you've ravenously listened to every song of theirs you can find. That's what happened to me, too, quite a number of years ago. Welcome! 💜💜💜

@@aishikchakraborty6816 Most internationally famous Finnish bands are metal and hard rock bands. The flagship is symphonic metal band Nightwish (my favorite: excellent live performances with huge versatility from folk to power metal, very strong vocals). I higly recommend you to watch: Nightwish "Ghost Love Score, Live at Wacken 2013 (Official Live). It's the most reacted music video on KZbin. Others are HIM, Sonata Arctica, Children of Bodom, Apocalyptica, the Rasmus and Sunrise Avenue, to name of few (all in English). In domestic market we prefer rock/pop and rap singing in Finnish. I think I first came across Poets of the Fall in 2008 and they've been consistently amazing ever since The acoustic sessions they've released recently tug at my heartstrings the way orchestral music does. I agree with the ones who recommend Daze. + The Sweet Escape, Alexander Theatre Sessions. Cheers!

Thanks so much for the lovely reaction! Poets of the Fall is an amazing band, and Marko is an amazing singer. 💜 He actually does have quite a wide vocal range - he's a baritone, but he also has a gorgeous falsetto that reaches well into what would be a mezzo soprano range. Here are two songs that feature his falsetto: Daze kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpqaf4CpqNekqac and Cradled in Love kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKGTcnuHpNSJibs . A good contrast featuring his deeper baritone range is False Kings: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJzaloaql8-diac . And just for another type of contrast, here's a more power metal style vocal in the song Take Control by their alter-ego band Old Gods of Asgard: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWG0pHuBfZxqg6s

My guess is that he wanted to hear Marko Saaresto's voice as close to natural as possible. The official video is the studio recording of the song, and the stuff they can do in the studio can hide a lot of natural flaws. Listening to the song live shows that he really doesn't have too many "flaws" in his natural singing voice.

They have an acoustic studio recording of a great song, Temple Of Thought which I recommend. False King's is a great song. Can You Hear Me is another song where he uses breath control and it is a good song. Actually, they have no bad songs in my book. It depends on mood. Every album has a theme and style of music. Marko's vocals are the best I have ever heard.
