Yeah but when she sings Broadway songs with Jason Robert Brown, like Still Hurting, she shows that she can use perfect, coherent enunciation if she wishes to. She’s capable of enunciating perfectly but she chooses to intentionally “slur” the words, for stylistic effect, in her music. It’s for a stylistic effect, it’s not because she has bad enunciation.

it’s definitely a new song. it sounds like none of the songs in thank u next. and you can tell she’s starting to dive into the r&b side of her, even tho her music’s always been influenced by r&b music it’s definitely more prominent this time around with this song. but also, you can tell it’s new just by the lyrics. she wrote thank u next during a rough period of her life, and positions is a love song that literally says “know my love infinite nothing i wouldn’t do”, implying she’s in a healthy relationship (which she is). anyways i can’t believe ppl think this is a recycled song. if they just listened correctly, they’d be able to tell it’s something fresh.

I love positions so much, it has such meaningful lyrics, about how women can do many things. And the song is not the best of her, but it's great! It's very light, but she also added her classic Ariana Grande highnote at the end. It's amazing how she can have various songs. I think I'll rate that song 8-9/10.
