Thank you very much for a wonderful reaction video, it’s a great pleasure to follow your “discovering Dimash”. I discovered him by chance one year ago and since that time I hardly want to listen to anything else. You have no idea how much fun you will have discovering Dimash! The Big World saw Dimash for the first time, when Chinese TV invited a student of the 3rd year of Music Academy in Kazakhstan to participate in the competition “I am singer” competing with the best performers from Asia. Dimash was known locally in the music circles in Kazakhstan and post-Soviet countries. He participated and even won some international competitions like “Slavonic Bazaar” 2015 in Witebsk (Belarus), but “the world never heard of him” until Chinese show 2017. The competition “I am singer” included 12 Episodes (probably 1 song per week). Speaking only Kazakhstan language, Russian and very little English Dimash performed in 6 languages (learning texts phonetically): in French, in Russian, in English, in Chinese (mandarin?) - a cover of a Japanese song, in Kazakh language (partly in Chinese) and in Italian. In the competition he was the second (in spite of more Episodes classified as 1st than anybody else). It seems the organizers wanted somebody local to win (they recommended the songs and the songs for the finals were not the best choice ect). However this competition made him within two months the hottest performer in China and whole Asia with hundreds millions fans! One year later Dimash was invited to “I am singer 2018 “ as a special guest during final episode where he performed “Hello” (Lionel Richie) . In the meantime he performed in big concerts in Kazakhstan and China with new fascinating songs, some composed by himself. He lives in China now, speaks Chinese and his English improved a lot. So today “the bigger half of the world”(Asia + Russia) is totally crazy about Dimash, and “the smaller half of the world” is not aware of his existence (with the exception of fan-clubs all over the world). It may change soon as on the 19th November there is a concert in London ! Dimash- Discover the Legend (London Concert Nov 19th), kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5bQe4Ggn66ar9U It will be a great pleasure for me to observe how “the smaller half” of the world discovers Dimash. Dimash (24) is probably the best vocally educated performer in the show business. He sings for more than 20 years, he is multi-instrumentalist and a gifted composer. In the interview he said that his voice changed after puberty but not so much. His parents are renowned singers although he was raised according to tradition by his grandparents. He trained taekwondo for some years and swims a lot to maintain his breathing capabilities. he is a tall guy (191 cm). There is a recording, when he was a teenager, where he is strongly criticized by jury of some local competition, saying that he should not mix styles in his singing, that he should not boast of his vocal capabilities on every occasion and similar crap. His only reaction was a polite smile on his face. It is difficult to learn about Dimash as most of the materials are in Kazakh language and Chinese which I do not know or Russian (which I follow with difficulty). So singing SOS Dimash was totally new and unknown for the audience, still he was greeted warmly. Next week it was totally different. Every Chinese knows “Opera 2” by a Russian performer Vitas, who used to sing it many times in China during the last 15 years. So there were expectations and applause when the expectations were exceeded. I believe the expectations were exceeded so much that Vitas went to court in China to prohibit Dimash to perform any of his songs (as a copyright violation). So there is no performance of Opera 2, by Dimash after 2017, only some earlier performances. When Dimash was 14 years old he performed another song by Vitas “Crane’s cry” kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4m2lYRonb2sabc there is only available audio of this song, Dimash fans added some contemporary photos. It’s worth listening to - you can imagine what will happen when this boy grows up ! During “I am singer 2017” competition everyone had to present his own composition. It was “Unforgettable day” Episode 10, composed when Dimash was 19. It was performed partly in Kazakh language and partly in Chinese. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIbYpmaindiYf8k The same song was performed half a year later by an Alien Dimash during Gakku concert where Dimash had a 30 minutes recital: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2aViXefoctpaJo (if you know any dolphin ask him to listen to it with you - he may help). If you really intend to “discover Dimash” I believe you should jump now to his latest hit “Sinful passion” kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4mlmXh4lplld7M this version is may be too long as it includes a rehearsal and then a concert version. After this I believe you should go back to 2017, Episode 3 “The show must go on” and the other episodes from “I am singer 2017”. This is the basic education in Dimash. After this there are concerts from 2017 and 2018, and also a fascinating period before 2017, with less materials more difficult to find. As an example: experimental duet (duo) with a renowned baritone Sundet Baygojin “Tu va me detruire” from the musical Notre Dame de Paris (experimental because in the original this is aria solo, but here we have Dimash !!) recorded by Russians in 2015 or 2016. m.ok.ru/video/242469831979 kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2LNYXaNrpxsrtE Best regards from Poland.

My favorite performance of 2017 is Dimash sing ‘Late Autumn.’ Just an incredibly beautiful song, and Dimash kills it. Every time I watch a first-timer’s reaction to Dimash, I just have to smile. The reactions are somehow always the same: Dimash is an alien. 😜

Dear Tara, I so love your reactions of Dimash, because you KNOW what he isdoing and help us appreciate his vocal abilities and techniques even more! Thank you. And as I have always said, you vindicated me: Dimash is a Prodigy! His vocals impeccable, his range insane, his technique superb! I am delighted to have you on board. Bless you 🙏❤🙏👍👏👏👏❤❤❤

Dimash is an artist who is clearly in the zone -- but so are you. You are great at this "singer/vocal coach reacts" format. In fact, you may be the best that I've encountered. By extrapolation, I'd guess that you have much to offer as a coach as well. Carry on.

Tara, I am the furthest thing from musical that you can imagine, but love hearing the performances of all the vocal and instrumental artists. I tripped across Dimash after a search for “contra-tenor,” and soon discovered you, as well. You, my Lady, have distinguished yourself as far and away the most eloquent and knowledgeable vocal coach of the legion I have listened to. It is a true pleasure to hear your informed analyses make the esoteric comprehensible to those of us with much enthusiasm, but neither talent nor training. High praise & accolades!!!

Thank you❣️ You’ve made my day Tara😃. I have been waiting for this for so long. I was afraid you wouldn't do more Dimash. Since none of my friends likes Dimash (I just can’t understand why?). It feels good to share the experience whit someone. Hope you will do more Dimash, soon ☺️. I think you should drop Sinful passion for now and see the rest of the Singer composition first. His english pronounces isn't that good at first, but he’s a fast learner. (Sorry. Hope you understand my english.) Anyway; no matter what you do, you must hear «Daybreak» from the Bastau concert 💚
